Default Vista & XP Home Wireless Network Connection Please Help!

I am trying to connect my Vista home basic wireless to my established XP home
wireless network. I can see the network but it will not connect. I have
checked the settings on Vista for file and print sharing and it is allowed. I
have also checked the correct password is being used on the network. It is
set to automatically connect. It is set to use WEP encryption. Any
suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Terry

Make sure you have assigned permission in the Security tab. Or this search
result may help.

I am not sure which security tab you are refering to.

Under the wireless network properties security tab I have security type open
- encryption type wep - and the security key entered.

In the windows security center I am using norton's firewall and all other
items are on.

The link should have many cases. Basically, you open the properties of the
shared folder and select Security tab.
