64 bit Vista Memory
What are your system specs? It may be incompatible RAM or mis-configured
BIOS. -- Dustin Harper | Replace the obvious http://www.VistaRIP.com | Vista Resource & Information Page "Albert Fischer" wrote in message ... 64 bit Vista will not install if more than 2 megs of memory is installed. Must install over 2 megs of memory after 64bit Vista is installed. |

64 bit Vista Memory
Go to the mobo manufacturer's website and determine which brands and speeds
of ram have been tested, especially if you are attempting to use pc6400 memory. Also, use the forum on the mobo manufacturer's website for your mobo and get some advice. This is a common issue relating to pc6400 ram, use of the fourth dimm slot, and timings. There is also a MS patch but that is not a panacea for not using supported ram. You mean gig, not megs right? 8^) I have 8 GB RAM installed on an Intel DG965WH motherboard and had no trouble at all installing Vista 64 Ultimate. There is an issue with my Hauppauge PVR-500 card where the 64-bit drivers aren't working right yet with the maximum memory a motherboard can take but other than that, no problem. Check your motherboard maker's Website. On some boards, all four RAM sockets can't be filled. On others (like mine) you have to use slower than the max RAM speed the motherboard allows when adding over a certain amount. Tom Lake |
