Default Vista XP Netwotk Problem

I have been trying to get an xp pc and a new vista pc to share folders for a
few weeks. I've tried most everything I've read and nothing seems to be
working. On the full map I can see the xp computer and same the other way.
However nothing for sharing the files. I always get not accessable from the
xp to the vista. From the vista I see nothing except on the full map.
Workgroup names the same, users the same (both admins), turned off and on
firewalls, only 1 firewall, installed the responder on the xp, more that I
can't even remember now. This just seems way harder than it shoud be!
Any thoughts/ideas?

Have you assigned permission in the Security tab? Or this search result may
