If you disable the Preview Pane under View/Layout, can you then delete it?

Can you navigate to the message store folder using Windows Explorer and open
the Local Folders/Inbox and delete it from there with Windows Mail closed?
And please confirm that you are asking about Windows Mail in Vista and not
"Windows Live Mail Desktop- beta."

Sorry Gini, but I'm out of ideas then. It sounds like a damaged Inbox, but
there are no repair tools available. You might want to look at your Event
Viewer and see if you can find any errors associated with the ESENT engine,
and post that info as a "bug" to Microsoft. (To open Event Viewer, right
click the My Computer icon, select Manage, then click on Event Viewer in the
left hand folder tree.)

You should be able to go to the message store folder, find the Outbox folder
and delete the "stuck" message. And it may well help if Windows Mail is not
running when you do this. (Tools/Options/Maintenance will help find the
location of the store folder).
