Default WINDOWS VISTA OUTLOOK EXPRESS 0x800C006C

I have the same problem with my ISP's newsgroup. I get the message:
An Unknown Error has Occurred

Configuration:

Protocol: NNTP
Port: 0
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 80004005

When I check the properties of the newsgroup it shows Server Port Number as
119 (as it should), and the server name is corect (news.charter.net). The
interesting thing is that the Microsoft Communities Newsgroup works properly.

I don't know why it is saying port 0 in the error then. If you have
antivirus software, try disabling it.

Steve,

The numbers are 110 for the incoming and 25 for outgoing mail. The same as
in Outlook. There, in Outlook 2007 beta, I still can send mails with the
same
settings. This is very strange, because sending mail normally always works
without problems instead of receiving mails, where you need a username and
password.
So, problem still remaining.

Christophe

numbers and fix them if they are incorrect. Try clicking the Use Defaults
button there.

Since a few days I can't send mail anymore. I always get this error:
An unknown error has occurred. Protocol: SMTP, Port: 0, Secure(SSL):
No,
Error Number: 0x800C006C
Who can tell me what the cause is of this error. Till now everything
works
fine with Outlook Express. I still can receive mail but I can't answer
them
or send new mail.

I found the bug . . . if (under the connection tab) I uncheck the "Always
connect to this account using:" everything works fine.
