Sorry, I for one am not about to click on an unknown link. Why don't you
just describe your problem in more detail. "Jamie" wrote in message ... Can someone explain why I can't see these files? Do not save files to the Program Files folder or sub-folders. Vista will
not allow it. Click on the button that says "Compatability Files" and it will take you to where the files actually are (in the Virtualstore). Probably is C:\Users\youraccount\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Pr ogram Files\AutoXray\EZ-PC\Data -- http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview "Jamie" wrote in message ... Trust me what is in that picture can't be fully EXPLAINED like it is shown.
It would take a Book. But to make you feel better here is my best chance. Basically a program is installed in C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoXray\ It stores it's data files in C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoXray\EZ-PC\Data Two example files exist here and they are .psc files. The issue is actually 4 .psc files are here. I can't see the two that I saved here with the program when viewing through Explorer. I can only see the orginal two files. If I click on open in the program all four show. I can right click on the ones not shown and see the details along with a file path location to: C:\Program Files (x86)\AutoXray\EZ-PC\Data\xxx.psc "Bob" wrote in message . .. Thanks Dave,
I found them. C:\Users\sup3rman\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Progr am Files (x86)\AutoXray\EZ-PC\Data Can someone tell me though why the XXXX in the file properties it doesn't show the ACTUAL path. That is just stupid that no where can you see the actual path. Again thank you. One vista issue down two to go. Jamie "Dave" wrote in message ... Vista is remapping the data in the background (virtualization) to allow broken applications which insist on writing to the "Program Files" directory. Allowing the "real" path to show up would defeat the purpose. |

I understand what it is doing.
What should be done is a showing of a Virtual path and then an Actual path when looking at the file. This would be beneficial for everyone. "DevilsPGD" wrote in message ...
