Default RAID 1 on Vista Home Premium

I bought a laptop HP Pavilion DV9428, AMD Turion X2 2.2GHz, 2 Gb RAM, 2 x
Toshiba 120Gb HD (device manager says SCSI !)
I would like to mirror my main HD to the 2nd one in the event of a HD failure.
I searched in my owner's manual and in Windows help file and could not find
any information on how or if it can be done.
Any comments or help will be appreciated.
Thanks

If it is a SATA drive controller the Device Manager will call it scsi.

Unless your HP came installed with a RAID controller,
HP does not support RAID on your HP laptop.

Try entering the BIOS setup during system startup and checking for a setting
to setup RAID. It often appears as a choice for the IDE configuration and
takes you to a menu.

Be careful what settings you make.

PS

If you can and do proceed, know that you will have to install everything
again. So back up user files. make sure you have all the system drivers, &c
on hand before you do it.
