I get the following message after sending "Offer Remote Assistance" from
WLM: Recipient name does not have Remote Assistance installed(or disabled) and is not able to accept your invitation. Note that RA is enabled at the RA recepient's PC. The the above is done between the two PCs in the home network so I can trouble shoot both PCs involed. The RA offer is submitted from Vista x86 machine and the RA recipient PC is running XP x64. Any trouble shooting suggestion is appreciated. |

The recipient receives this error messages because the recipient that you
are inviting does not have a version of Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger that is capable of starting a Vista Remote Assistance session. -- Bob Lin, MS-MVP, MCSE & CNE Networking, Internet, Routing, VPN Troubleshooting on http://www.ChicagoTech.net How to Setup Windows, Network, VPN & Remote Access on http://www.HowToNetworking.com "churin" wrote in message ... Thanks for your response.
The version is 8.1(Build 8.1.0178.00). I wonder why the latest version could be incapable of handling Remote Assistance. But that seems to be the case because both "Request Remote Assistance" and "Offer Remote Assistance" are not in the "Actions" list of the WLM running on XP x64 machine. Is WLM not compatible with XP x64? Robert L.
