Hi,
I have the following setup: 1. HTPC running Vista 32 Bit 2. Desktop PC (AMD X2 64) running Vista 64 3. Laptop, Asus G2S T7500 intel, running Vista 64 4. Childrens pooter, XP box (sp 2) I have 1gb NIC's and CAT6 cables. Auto Neg set at 1000/full Transfering files: (beforce Vista SP1(the open release)) 1. From Desktop - HTPC, speed about 45-50mb/sec, good 2. Dekstop, Laptop 10-12mb, bad! Hangs 3. Desktop - XP, 20mb sec...guess its ok for an old box Installed the open SP1 for Vista on my 64 bit machines: 1. Desktop to Laptop, 14mb/sec 2. Desktop to Laptop, disabled firewall on both sides, 60mb/sec 3. Desktop to Laptop, enabled firewall, 60mb sec 4. Desktop to Laptop, waited 10 mins and tried again, 25mb/sec 5. Desktop to HTPC(vista 32), 15mb/sec 6. Desktop to XP, 25mb sec Pre vista I have NEVER had problems with my network/speed. I have disabled auto-tuning on all Vista boxes. What more should I try?
