OK this time I'll word it more clearly...hopefully. It would be nice if
Windows Mail did NOT have to be opened in order to check if one has new mail. Instead have a taskbar icon with visual/audio notification. I've already sent it in to Microsoft, several build ago, only to be met with a stony silence. -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP2 x 2 + Vista RC1 5728 triple boot. XP can show this at the login screen, though, it's susceptible to
corruption, and showing incorrect counts. "Peter" wrote in message ... OK this time I'll word it more clearly...hopefully. Yes I know, but what I would like to see is what practically any other email
client has, audible/visible desktop notification whether or not you have the mail client open. -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP2 X 2 + Vista RC1 5728 "jwardl" wrote in message ... I'm sure someone could write a "gadget" for it.

Well, there's THIS
http://gallery.microsoft.com/liveite...6a713505aa&l=1 but it works only for Outlook -- I think. "Peter" wrote in message ... Yes, that's for Outlook only. There is this one but I think it just
provides a short cut to WM from the tray rather than an actual alert. http://neosmart.net/mint/pepper/orde...inMailTray.zip -- Peter Toronto, Canada XP Pro SP2 x 2 + Vista RC1 5728 P4 HT @ 3.0ghz, 700gb HDD, 2.0gb DDR TSST H429A + H552U CD/DVD Combi-Drives Sony DRU820A x 2 DVD-RAM Combi-Drives "jwardl" wrote in message ... TOTALLY UNBELIEVABLE, THAT SOMETHING so simple such as email notifier, has
been missed by Vista too. For one thing that fricked up program called Incredimail which was bought by Microsoft has AWESOME notifiers but the rest of the program crashes consistently. Is it possible that microsoft has just overlooked the INCREDIBLE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING a notifier on the email. I would buy a whole new operating system based on this one feature. Holy Smokes, I am sick of all this crap.
