A Message For Kevin Panzke by Electro Lytes
Traumatic brain injury (TBI), also called acquired brain injury or simply head injury, occurs when a sudden trauma causes damage to the brain. TBI can result when the user installs a LINUX based Operating System on his or her computer. Objects soon appear to pierce the skull and brain tissue. Symptoms of a TBI can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the extent of the damage to the brain....

User Profile Service failed the logon by CodyGH
Hi, I'm new here... I was hoping you could help me. I tried to log-on to Vista today, and recieved this message... User Profile Service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded. And, that is the only user account on my system. So, I don't have any way to sign on right now. I was going to try to system restore or activate the hidden admin account, but when booting up with safe-mode, I get...

Display Driver nvlddmkm stopped responding -- FIX-- by Dwain
I have found and fixed the problem today. This is what appears to happen. during the installation of the most current drivers 100.65 Vista, an OLD file nvlddmkm.sys is copied into windows/system32/drivers and not the current one in the install. As a result the new drivers are attempting to access a file dated 11/2006 instead of 2/2007 ver 7.15.11.0065 which is in the newest WHQL driver...

Various ways to switch among open apps? by Rick[_24_]
I've been relying on Alt-Tab to switch among open applications since Windows 3.1. Now that I sometimes have 10 or 12 apps open at any given time, I'm finding that the muscles of my hand often get strained. I really don't like the standard way that people switch among apps: moving the mouse down to the taskbar and clicking the icon of the app you want. Are there other possibilities out...

Certain operations EXTREMELY slow on 64 bit Vista Premium: openingfile, printing,... by Gary Hasler
Certain operations are extemely slow. After I choose the command or menu item, the progress bar freezes about at the 50% point and there is no CPU or disk activity at all for over a minute. These operations have the problem: - Opening a file (even a tiny template) in CorelDraw X3 - Printing anything, on any network printer - Certain dialog boxes in certain applications Oddly, many apps seem...

Tablet PC output not working. by keepout@yahoo.com.invalid
UE = Ultraedit I've already contacted UE on this problem, their response, they don't have a way to use the tablet PC output. I'd always figured the PC output was pretty much just cut & paste. Using my wacom 12wx the other day, I ran across a web link I wanted to visit later when I got online. To save the link, I wanted to write into a desktop note. I fired up UE, no tablet PC input panel. I...

Why this should be the Win7 newsgroup by Frank[_84_]
igotsaurus wrote: Having steadily used Win 7 since the first public I entirely sympathize with those who label it Vista SP3. Then try and purchase Vista SP3. You can't as of yet and when you can, you'll still have Vista, not Windows 7. It is not significantly faster than Vista 64 SP2 on the same hardware and uses the same drivers.

Why this should be the Win7 newsgroup by Tony UK
Yes, this is the Vista newsgroup. All new postings for Widonws 7 should be on the new moderated website, where there are no trolls. It is http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7 Good luck on this present site, I am moving on (to Win 7). How to create a registry modification install file by David4321
I have seen some .reg files, which are not a complete registry (like a backup), but they just make certain edits and patches when clicked. How can I make such a file? What I am doing: I have just finished making many edits to install a new icon setup for files, folders, etc. - now I want to save my work in a form that can be used to install the same changes on another operating system - such as...

Vista automatically changes the volume mixer by Thomas Andersen
Some programs in Windows Vista automatically changes the volume in the mixer. Is there a way to lock the volume so it never can be changed (untill you unlock it again). It's really annoying that you have to manually change the volume, because i play games where i need the sound. In advance - Thanks.

Vista software to show real time boot processes on screen by Øyvind Granberg
Hi... Is there any software that show what process is currently starting and running on screen in real time? I have Vista Ultimate. Somewhere along the startup of Vista there is a long wait. I think the perpetrator is the AppLauncher in the Vista Sidebar containing too many icons. In fact 56 of them. I guess the wait is while hte software is
