cannot install vista sp1 by

Hello friends,
I've a windows vista x86 os installed on my system (4GB RAM). The problem
is that when trying to install vista service pack 1 on or off-line
instalations, the system stays for many many hours in an indefinite loop or
eventually crashing but never finishing installation. I can get no other
windows updates except for the windows defender ones. Can anybody, please
help me with...

Gd download manager by

Is the download manger in IE9 really that bad. So unpredicatble of when
it'll not resume a file, items disappear from list etc. etc. and yet seems
hard to avoid it's use.
FFS MS fix this crap!!!

Microsoft Imaging by

I tried to use Microsoft Imaging to open multipage tiff files, but it
appears that the programme does not support multipage facilities.
Microsoft Imaging was already on my machine, but I neded to use a CD
to install the software.
I will not now be needing the utility. Can the facility be
uninstalled? I can't find it in Control Panel (Programs). I can not
see the utility in Word either! It does...

Just Dell Logo Screen! by

I have this Dell Inspiron 530s desktop computer that won't get past the
dell logo screen at startup. I bought this computer off a friend that
had said the psu had gone bad. I bought a new psu and installed it,
hooked up sata hdd and sata dvd-rom and tried it. At first I was able to
go to setup and then it asked for password. Didn't know any password but
I did try a few that I had seen on another...

Recovery CD by

Hi,
I have Windows 7 64 bit. A client gave me his laptop running Vista
32, which will not boot. I booted with my Windows 7 recovery CD. It
wants to repair something. I do not think this is safe since they are
2 different windows versions.
Can I create a Vista recovery CD from Windows 7? Or, can I use my 64
bit recovery CD to fix the issue? Or, where is a good place to
download an ISO?

New hard drive Vista install by

I had to replace a damaged hard drive in my laptop this week. I replaced
the hard drive and began installing Windows Vista back on the hard
drive. Half way through the power went out and the computer shut down.
When I turned the computer back on I got a message "Press any key to
boot from CD or DVD./....". I have tried pressing several keys and I get
no response. What do I do?
