Vista is doing strange things to Epson R1800 printer colour manage by
Simpleuser
Hi
I need some help to neutralise whatever Vista is doing in the colour
management tab in printer properties for my Epson R1800 photo-printer. There
are a huge number of options there but it is not clear what each one does and
so far I have been unable to find any guide. I am an experienced Photoshop
user used to working in a managed colour system -- my Eizo monitor is colour

How to get rid of clobbered icons several times a day? by
Ruud Uphoff[_2_]
Hi
Several times each day, I get lots of shortcuts with a wrong icon. This
happens on the desktop, in folders as well in menu START.
The problem can be solved for some time by killing explorer.exe and
restart is using task manager. However, a few hours later that garbage is
back again.
How to stop this? Any idea?

Using IIS by
midnightLuke
I am having trouble using IIS.
My problem is that I am far from an IT Pro and the only thing I want to use
it for is testing my PhP scripts locally. I don't have any idea how to post
the pages to my local server without having to jump through a million of
those "Are You Sure?" bubbles that pop up in Vista.
I want to be able to copy files to the inetpub/wwwroot directory and edit
them...

repair" tells me it thinks there is an issue with the router. there
isn't. so i reboot vista and the internet connection resumes. POS.

Writing files to Root Folder c:\ in Vista by
Bill Armitage
I have just installed VISTA Ultimate but programs that ran in Windows XP fail
because I cant write files on the C:\ folder. How can I make the C:\ folder
accept files written to it? I want to do this once so that all my programs
can run under VISTA.
Can I write a program in VB6 to automatically change the folder attributes
on the C:\ folder so that clients, who may install VISTA, won't...

Calendar & Time Zone Changes by
Eric H[_2_]
On the Microsoft Office Outlook Calendar, when you change time zones, all of
your yearly appointments (like birthdays, anniversaries) come up as 2 day
appointments and not 1. Is there a way to fix this or could it be under
consideration for a future update? I notified Microsoft of this last year
and they assured me it would be considered. It is really a pain and
something I feel time...

Vista Suggestion & Error reports? by
goorambatman
1. I have noticed a lot of people, including myself have big trouble with
Media Center in Vista when they upgrade from Windows XP Media Center Edition.
The answers are always to do a clean install but I purchased the upgrade
edition plus it would be a massive hassle.
It would be ideal if we could just clean install/re-install Windows Vista
applications such as Media Center.
2. How many...

http://windowsultimate.com/blogs/announcements/archive/2007/09/25/windows-dreamscene-released.aspx
In early July, I wrote about The Ultimate Team's intention to ship the
remaining promised Ultimate Extras (DreamScene and the remaining Language
Packs) by the end of the summer. Unfortunately summer never really came to
Seattle this year-so we missed our cue. That being said, we are pleased to...

minutes to install/configure) comes up but quickly goes away and none of the
features are added (removal doesn't work either).
I verified the windows process activation service and windows module

Printing Device Manager List by
bb
Where'd the print command go in Device Manager?
I like to print the list to a file and compare it to older versions as
things changed.
Very handy to track down differences if things broke.
But the 'Action' menu no longer has a "print" command.
