I can't access the Internet after installing windows updates for Vista. I connected to the Internet but I cannot browse. I get a message indicating the website I want is unavailable. So far, the only "fix" is to restore my computer.

I keep having this strange problem with any USB pen drive I use. After the first time I use it, which works fine, inserting it a second time simply locks up explorer or anything that tries to access it. This includes the device manager, the command prompt, and so on. The drive works perfectly fine in other computers running XP or Win2k3. Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions?

Age old question isn't it. I was using Webroot but when I changed over to a new laptop with Vista Ultimate 64-bit (32/64 Combo) Webroot didn't quite have their 64-bits together and they still don't. So I tried Symantec's Norton 360 but don't like it (keep it simple) or Ghost but kept using them for several months. The story with Symantec can go on and on a lot further then this.

Why do we have to name a 'user'. Why can't we just leave it as Administrator? That way you wouldn't have to select upon boot up and most of the permissions would be less intrusive.

A new Dell Studio 540S, Vista Home premium. It was a "demo" at Staples. They said they will restore it to its original state. But. While the Administrator (control panel, user accounts) shows my correct name (as the administrator) AND there is no other account except disabled guest. Staples shows up, though, in another "key" place - C:\Users.

I want to partition my disk to dual boot both. When i open diskpart in the command prompt i can not partition my drive as if i select the correct disk it states there is a size of 298gb but free space is zero. But in actual fact there is 277 gb free. What am i missing here,why does it state zero bytes free and what is the way to put it right. thank-you.
