Hi. I purchased a new laptop which is operating on VISTA x64 yesterday and haven't been able to get it to connect to the wireless lan network at home. My previous laptop and the PC connect without any problems. The vista laptop sees the wireless network and I have added it's MAC to the router but when I try and connect, a error message says to reset my router which I have already done. I suspect...

Microphone problems (low feedback) by asdf.
My apologies if this is in the wrong section. I have seen that there are many issues regarding microphone use in regards to Vista, which is why I suspect this problem does involve Vista. Basically I bought a new headset microphone, and put it into my sound card slots, as well as my integrated one, but the feedback I receive from the speakers is extremely low. I have indeed tried the two...

Automatic updates changing screen resolution by Sheila Hoffman
I'm REALLY tired of this. Every automatic update changes my resolution to 800x600. Not only do I have to reset it but it changes all my standard keep-open apps that are sized and positioned as I want them. So I have to resize them all as well. Is ther ANY way to avoid this? I think it's incredibly RUDE! Thanks, Sheila

MBR repair / restore, Toshiba Satellite notebook PC? by randall@nowhere.net
Sigh, I can not figure out how to repair/restore the MBR on my Toshiba Satellite notebook PC. Used to be easy with WinXP, I just popped in my legal copy of WinXP and chose the option, or in a command prompt typed fixmbr. But with Vista and a Toshiba laptop that has recovered CDs (two) I am clueless. I have tried the recovery CD, but it looks like it wants to toast the system, wipe everything, to...

Aero and screen resolution by novicejr
Using Vista premium on my dell 1530 laptop with screen resolution at 1920 x 1200. When using Vista basic, everything is perfect. However, with Aero on, browsers still at 1920 x 1200 but certain pop up boxes are clearly not at 1920 x 1200. Pop up boxes such as opening firewall menu, spybot program. Not all pop up boxes are at lower resolution. For example, when I open up network...
