CD DVD Not Working by
austin
Hey,
Since I installed Vista my CD/DVD drive was working and has stopped working.
When I go into Device Manager theres a message:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be
corrupted or missing. (Code 39)
The Check For Solutions or Driver Update offer no solution. How Do I fix
this without having access to the CD?

USB External Floppy Disk Drive-New Purchase Recommendation by
sundance799
I need to purchase a USB 3.5 inch external floppy disk drive to transfer
files from from my old computer, which is running Windows 98, to my new
computer running Vista Home Premium. The external floppy disk drives I've
looked at on NewEgg.com all support versions of Windows up to Vista but not
including Vista. I do not want to deal with driver problems so I'm doing
this research up front. ...

Can someone tell me an alternative driver for Soundblaster Live! ?
I am seriously not willing to get rid of it just because of Vista. I'd

usb hard drive not showing in explorer by
Shane
Hi everyone.
I'm hoping someone can help me with a problem I have using a USB hard drive.
When it's connected windows vista goes through the usual USB driver
installation process without a problem, however the hard drive doesn't show
up in explorer. Nor does it show up in computer management/disk management.
It does show up in computer management/device manager/disk drives.

Help- I deleted something and now my computer's messed up! by
[email protected]
Hello,
I deleted something from my computer (by mistake). I think it was
something with the ATI program. Now my desktop is all stretched out.
Before, my screen resolution was 1280 x 800, now the highest it will
let me set it at is 1024 x 768. Things look stretched out and blurry.
Is there something I could download?

missing screen by
rookieinct
I am using Microsoft Vista Home Addition and I am a novice. I downloaded a
copy of turbo tax and part of the screens are missing --- no buttons. I have
that problem with other software as well. I know its not Turbotax because it
works just fine on my XP laptop. It's driving me crazy. How do I fix it?

My computer just powers off wothout warning sometimes then won't turn on
again for several minutes. The computer hasn't been overheating or even under
heavy load when it happens. Which piece of hardware is the cause of my
trouble so that I can replace it? The motherboard is an ABIT IS7, the PSU is
a Coolmax 450W, and the CPU is a 2.8GHz P4 Northwood. Or is the problem with
something else?...

This is a problem that's been plaguing me for the last few days. I recently
upgraded to 8gb of ram. After a long process of elimination, I have found
out my system works beautifully with 4gb. Anything above that, when vista is
loading and the green bar is going across the screen, it hangs for at least 5
minutes.
Now, I have tried a series of things:

RAID0 by
Norsk
I made a mistake and created a RAID0 of my 2 drives. Since the drives were
not the same size I lost disk space on the larger one.
Can I make a full system backup, remove the RAID0 defenitions from the
drives in BOIS and do a full system restore and that way get rid of the
RAID0, or will the restore process require RAID0 again?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
