Swap file on USB flash drive? by
sebbelcher
I have read a few articles about ReadyBoost not giving much of a performance
gain on systems with large amounts of RAM, I'm not sure of the internal
workings of ReadyBoost but my 2GB system still frequently uses the swap-file.
So, would it create a greater performance increase to install the USB flash
device as a drive and then force windows to use this device and this device
alone for...

Microsoft mouse drivers cause problems scrolling in some applicati by
sebbelcher
Hi,
I have seen many people complain about this problem, both in this forum and
other third party forums but nothing seems to be getting done about it.
There are driver problems which are causing scrolling not to function
correctly in certain applications using Microsoft mouse products with the
Intellipoint driver software under Vista. All such applications (in my
personal experience)...

to my intel D975XBX ICH7 SATA ports operate only in UDMA-2 mode (33MiB/s).
How can I increase them to use the optimal UDMA-6?

AHCI by
Sebastian Vega[_2_]
Hello!
I bought a PC with Vista Home Premium preinstalled and an intel G33 chipset.
However, SATA mode in BIOS was set to IDE. If I set it to AHCI or RAID, I
would get a BSOD.
So I enabled AHCI driver in Vista in the registry, with no success. I also
tried installing intel Matrix drivers, but the installer says my system does
not meet minimum requirements.
So what do I have to do now to enable...

X-Fi on Vista is a joke, goodbye Creative!!! by
Sebastian Vega
Previous driver version: 6.0.1.1302, dated may 10th.
Driver released yesterday: 6.0.1.1303, dated september 20th
So in more than four months, Creative did just one build, which in my case
still doesn't solve any of the problems: crackling and poppin, sudden sound
hangs which can be solved only by rebooting or by "resetting" settings in
the creative audio console (settings I never...

USB Audio Texas PCM2900 recognized as MONO MIC by
SebasL
Hello:
In Win XP, the Texas PCM290x (USB audio codec) was correctly recognized as
sound card, but in Vista it's recognized as USB microphone. So when you try
to record something you get the same audio in both channels (you can unplug
the right channel and will keep recording in stereo with the same signal in
both channels).
There is any workaround or new driver available?
Thanks in advance.

Someone could help me please I don't know what to do now. Should I come back

Readyboost stopping boot by
Seatux
I've just bought a Apacer Handy Steno AH320 drive for ReadyBoost purposes.
But then if i leave the drive alone in the port, the PC would hang while
booting. That is it would be stuck at the boot CD ROM part and see no
progress after 1 minute. Unplugging it before reboots would make it work, but
it's a hassle to plug it in every single reboot.
Using the Asus A7BN8X-E Deluxe motherboard, with...

Cant connect Treo700WX via Bluetooth? by
SeanNQ
Pretty annoying problem. I can connect through USB Just fine, but there
is no way to connect through Bluetooth.
The Treo is running WM 5.0, and WM 6.0/.1 can connect to WMDC through
bluetooth with no problem, but my Treo doesn't show Activesync as one of
the services on my PC.
Did Mircrosoft pull another "Brilliant" Idea out and drop 5.0 or what?
Any Idea on what I can do?

Dell Docking Station by
SeanM
I recently upgraded from XP Pro SP2 to Vista Business 32-bit (the one that
comes with Technet). I am using a Dell D810. My audio drivers work fine
when the laptop is out of the docking station, but I have no audio at all
when in the docking station. Dell says this is a Microsoft problem, and a
fix will have to come from MS. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
