Vista Color Management Bug? by
kwdaves
I've been told over on the Adobe forum that there is a known bug in Vista's
color management that printer manufacturers among others are trying to get
Microsoft to fix. Does anyone know anything about it?

The Pianist
I've used Vista (home basic) for a while now and there wasn't any serious
compatibility issues with the motherboard.
I reinstalled it a couple of weeks back, and ever since then, there's been
an issue with shutting down the computer. Usually, if I select SHUT DOWN from
the start menu, the computer doesn't shut down completely, but enters a
sleepish/suspended mode.The red (busy/status) light...

Vista Compatible External 56K Modem by
Alex Balfour
I've just acquired a Vista based system and I'd like to add an external 56K
modem to support the auto-dialing of phone numbers via the freeware package
PhoneDeck. Any recommendations? Vista compatible drivers are obviously
essential.
I'm located in the United Kingdom.

Vista compatible tuner and possibly HD by
Joel WZ
I am preparing to upgrade my XP MCE box to Vista. I want to replace my
tuner card and can't find anything that shows what cards are compatible.
Also, if I am changing tuners, are there decent HD tuner cards that allow
access to an HD Cable box?
Any help or advice would be greately appreciated.

Vista corrupted files by
gfg
I can not defrag. or run restore. Dell tech. performed troubleshooting and
said I had a few files which cannot be repaired by SFC/Scannow. Can CHKDSK/R
repair the files. Will I have to take PC into a shop to have Vista
reinstalled, or can I find and repair or delete corrupt files and
individually reload those?

Vista crashed external HD by
Swift Sword
I have several external HDs connected to my system, all via USB. I was
copying information from one HD to another when I connected a USB thumb
drive. Vista reset all of the connections and crashed the HD I was copying
from. I believe the table is corrupted. Is there a fix for this so I can
recover the data?

Vista Device Manager by
Mitch
Hi,
How can you tell in device manager if a device is disabled? I read that a
red "X" would be next to the device with the problem. When I manually
disable a device by right mouse clicking on it and choosing "disable", I get
an arrow to the left of the device pointing downwards. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Vista disk cleanup button? by
RuffRider
In Windows XP every drive (real or partition)has the disk cleanup button on
the drive properties general tab but in Vista only on the c drive...
is this right or not?
I thought the button was on every general tab and not only the general tab
for drive c.
