NTavirvr01 by
I see the NTavivrv01 as an "other" device in Device Manager, as many have reported. My video card is an ATI Radeon x1950. With the latest drivers from ATI the "other" device shows. If I uninstall the ATI drivers and use the in-box drivers for Vista Ultimate x64, there are no "other" devices. However, the in-box drivers identify the card as x1900 Series. It appears that we will have to wait...

Vista can't load DVDROMs by
I have VISTAˇˇRTM and it worked well. However, it could not load the driver for my DVDROM and DVDRW now, even the virtual CD-ROM(Daemon tools). I uninstalled Daemon Tools, and the DVDROMS I have, then restarted the system, but still failed. However, I switch to XP system, they all work well. I have a sound card, modem, and a TV tuner on my PCI slots. I wonder why it is all right in XP but...

help. Digital filter? how to de-filter? USB audio device by
Dear All, It is for sure that when I send audio data down to USB audio device, Vista add a digital filter there between. This destroy our application because we have our own way of package/unpackage data which can tolerate normal occasional byte missing. But add a filter will totally change it. What filter they added and how to de-filter it? I would like to pay for the answer.

Does Vista USB audio driver forced a digital filter? by
We use USB audio channel to send some data down/up (occasionally a word wrong is OK). This works for 2000 and XP. But for Vista, the data down to device is changed too much. Things do not work at all. Does Vista Audio Driver enforce to add a filter? If so, can I turn it off? Thanks!

RC1 & SoundMax -- funky results (USUALLY no sound) by
Warning: this has been cross-posted in the music_pictures_video group, too "clean" install (let old WinXP2 go to Windows.old, no dual boot) on a "white box" which had WinXP previously (overall performance evaluation of the system is a pedestrian 2.5) -- used to have audio, no problem -- now generally, no audio -- very funky -- Device Manager reports no problems or conflicts (SoundMax...

Question for dm00ney by
You said you have 5.1 and EAX working on RC1. Are you saying with Windows media player you get sound out of 5 speakers? I tried your tip, but the only time I get 4 speaker sound (4.1 setup) is using the sound test. Are you using an analog connection to your speakers? Thanks for any input.
