Lowered Expectations
I was on RC1 and on Beta before that. Several days before the RC1 timeout I

PROBLEM: I cannot run the backup disks.
"Windows was not able to find any backup sets on F:\."
Well, I sure can find backup on...

$oem$ driver directory in Vista installation sources by
Steve Bishop
Hello,
Does anyone know if it is possible to add third-party drivers to a
Vista installation source (e.g. on a network share) by adding an $oem$\
$1\drivers directory to the source tree as with XP? If possible, this
would be very helpful and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Steve Bishop

John Monahan
I have been looking over this newsgroup for a few days and do not seem to
find the answer to a situation that I am sure will come up a lot;-
OK I have an install of XP+SP2 that is years old and is on a disk with many
many other correctly functioning programs. Everything is rock solid. The XP
does not seem to pass the WGA test (because it is some old OEM product or
something) so to move to...

"Attempt to access invalid address" by
WanderingSage
Everytime I attempt to install something I download, mostly in the case of
trialware for anti-stuff, that message pops up. It dosen't seem to be
selective of what it prevents, but reguardless of how many times I install
something, it just won't install the item. What is casing this problem and
how would I go about fixing it?

"Connect automatically" checkmark disappears from "Dial-up Connect by
Dima
Hello!
How to make a "Connect automatically" check mark stay in a "Dial-up
Connection" window? The "Connect to:" field is "ADSL".
The check mark disappears after a hibernation or restart. I have to check
the "Connect automatically" and click "Connect" every time after a
hibernation or restart to resume the internet connection.
