Jolson46
Hi,
This program seemed to run fine on my XP PC, but when I tried to run it on
my Vista PC I get the follwoing error:
Windows diretories were found on multiple drives.
This computer appears to be set up for running multiple operating systems.
This is currently not a supported scenario.
I'm not sure how to fix this. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Dell E1705 BSOD on 1st boot by
Tony Tait
Hi all,
I'm on my second try to upgrade my xp pro install to Vista business
(free from the MS 'together' promo) on my Dell Inspiron E1705. When the
install gets to the (I presume) last reboot and tries to 'start for the
first time' I get an immediate BSOD and reboot after the Vista load
screen. The BSOD is much too fast to read the stop code as the machine
reboots instantly. 'A quick flash...

We have been installing Vista via an unattended installation (made via the
Windows System Image Manager WSIM).
The Vista OS is installed.
The logon screen shows us that we can logon to EDU, being our domain. But
when doing so, using a domain account, we get the error message "The trust
relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed" (error

Furthermore there is no...

Easy File Transfer doesn't transfer SideBar Gadgets? by
Per Salmi
I just used the Easy File Transfer wizard to copy all settings for a single
user account and then restored them on another computer.
I found that all user configured SideBar Gadgets are missing and also all
the user defined Quick Launch shortcuts.
Is this as it should be?

Vista Ultimate Full Installation (going crazy here) by
Topher
I had a similar problem.
Is the HD SATA? In the RAID slot or normal SATA slot?
Try plugging it in the #1 slot and not the RAID side, Make sure the computer
bios detects it and I had to format the drive (500 Gig -not fun) with an XP
disk and installation worked fine.
PS deleting the drive during setup did not work. Only formatting the entire
bloody disk worked.
PPs This only occurred after I...

Cannot Install Vista on SATA Drive by
[cookie]
Hi one and all,
Not sure if anyone can help me with this as the problem seems widespread in
various forms.
My particular problem is that when I installed Vista (Home Premium) on this
new build, it gets all the way to the "completing the installation" phase and
then just restarts and then an error message appears when it starts back up.
It says exactly this:

Error Message: Windows installation could not continue because... by
ayejay0601
Running an IBM Thinkpad T42--1GB Ram, 1.7 MHz Centrino, 80 GB HD--with 20 GB
free.
Getting "Windows installation could not continue because a required device
driver could not be installed". This message occurs after "copying files".
It occurs in the third part of the installation (cannot remember--I think it
is the "expanding files" part--the part right before installing files)
Any help?

BIOS Updates by
Brian
I have been trying to install Vista Ultimate (64 bit version) for days.
Literally. Tried swapping hardware, changing BIOS settings. Disabling
everything but the minimums to run. No luck. Continued to get the BSoD
with STOP error 0x0000001e. Almost giving up, I decided to flash the
BIOS, and now everything is working perfectly. I strongly suggest that
anyone having problems does this before trying...

Vista Home Premium Retail - 64bit pending - Serial Key question by

We bought Windows Vista Home Premium *retail* for my machine today, and I've
already ordered my 64 bit version from Microsoft, I'm guessing the new disc

the meantime?
I want to try and get this new sata drive running and feel my way around any
hardware issues with vista before the 64 bit gets here, apparently it can...
