Installing Vista Beta (5384) fails by
Elimination
- Installing Vista x86 under XP x86:
After copying and unpacking it makes it's (first) reboot. After displaying
the bootmanager menu it automaticly picks Vista setup. Screen goes black and
"ticks" (as in switching resolution probably) and there is some HDD usage for
a couple of seconds (it doesn't spin the cd drive up). Few seconds later it
reboots.
This results in the same loop.

Duel Boot Issue Not Yet Discussed by
Spirefm
I have installed Vista on top of a dual boot system, so now I've got a triple
boot system - XP Home English; XP Pro Spanish and Vista English. Eventually -
when Norton & Nero catch up with Vista - I hope to have just 2 versions of
Vista - English and Spanish.
The boot arrangement is actually 'Vista or Previous'. Choosing previous
takes me to the Home/Pro choice. It works OK

Vista Install needs DVD drive driver?! by
Eran
I had the same problem and i managed to solve it, the solution:
1. run the setup in windows xp, at the same piont you will be able to see
the missing driver listed on the bottom(next to "load drivers").
2. get the latest driver you can find, save it on the HD and browse for it
during the setup.
I was missing a driver for my intel board`s RAID
btw: the setup wont accept the driver during a...

Gerhard
How do I reinstall wmdSync.exe?
It got lost during the uninstallation of active sync4.2 (which I found out
too late is not needed in vista). Now I get the message wmdSync.exefailed
because RAPI.dll is missing.

pre rc1 upgrade from xp home by
B Barley
I just did an upgade from xp home last on my laptop last night and wanted to
post my results.
#1 DO NOT DO AN UPGRADE
There are several reasons.
a. if you have a good deal of software installed, the upgrade could take a
while. It took almost 4 hours for me to do an upgrade, as compared to just
over an hour for a clean install.

VirtualPC to Virtualize Vista on Vista by
William McIlroy
First, VirtualPC warns that Vista is a bad operating system upon which to run
VirtualPC. That's not entirely true. VirtualPC works pretty okay on Vista
except for some "issues" revolving around the new software that drives what
shows up on the display(s) in front of you. These can be worked around.
Second, Vista's installation procedure is maddeningly obtuse in that it gets
to a point...

A8R32-MVP and SLI won't work? by
Gary R.
Sorry about the misuse of the term "SLI", I know it's a Crossfire board.. SO
is there a way to disable CROSSFIRE in BIOS? It's moot at this point because
I just removed my secondary card completely and Vista STILL causes a reboot
just after the Vista splash screen (just before the GUI would normally
appear)...
Thanks

Chris - I can't get IN to Vista to install any drivers! I get to the Vista

does the same thing in Safe Mode and also with only one of the two Crossfire
cards installed..
