Bad boy Vista! BAD! by
Adam Albright
I walked away from my computer to come back and find it must have
rebooted in my absence. I look in the Event Viewer and find this
"event":
{Registry Hive Recovered} Registry hive (file):
'\??\C:\Users\XXXXXXXXXX\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\UsrClass.dat'
was corrupted and it has been recovered. Some data might have been
lost.
Yea I guess, because when it rebooted it trashed my desktop that...

installation OK, but with error? by
Silvia B
Hi,
Last night I installed Windows Vista Home Premium Full Edition. I did a
clean installation. The installation worked, but almost at the end on the
last step of the installation a screen appeared saying: "Cannot locate
missing driver", (it didn't say me which driver was missing) so I reboot and
took out the DVD and Windows Vista start up screen appeared asking me to
configure it with my...

New hardware = New product key? by
DaveC9000
Okay so I installed Vista last week, and it activated just fine. Due to a
hardware problem I had to install a new motherboard in my PC today. All of
the other hardware is still the same, and I did not reinstall Vista. Now I
get a message saying that Windows can't activate because my product key is
already in use! I understand not wanting hackers to steal your stuff, but I
PAYED FOR...

Unable to get past entering in product key by
Axis384
Ok I really have no idea why I am having this problem. I purchased Vista
Home Premium Edition yesterday and tried installing it when I got home from
work. I ran the tool before I opened it just to make sure that my computer
was compatible and I passed. Now comes my frustration:
I open the case, pop in the cd, autoplay install screen. Everything seems
to be working fine as I proceed...

Do I have a 64bit or 32bit processor by
tyler
Hello all,
I have an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ processor.
However, when I type WINMSD in Run I get the following
System Type: X86-based PC
Processor x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 0 AuthenticAMD ~2200Mhz
So do I have a 64bit or a 32 bit processor? I got the 32bit edition of home
premium today, and just ordered the 64bit from Microsoft.

Why are so many Mac users here learning Vista's inherent Security? by
Jonathan Schwartz 2
Questions:
1) Why are the many Mac users Posting within these Forums repeatedly making
equal Post or very similar Post entirely bankrupt of morals and specifically
bankrupt for IT knowledge?
2) Appears too obvious the Mac users are seeking a genuine education
regarding Windows Vista by Posting such insane lame Post.
3) Apparently, since Windows Vista is the most IT advanced, and secure OS...

Upgrade from Vista Premium to Ultimate on New PC by
Gregory Peet
Good morning all,
I'm trying to upgrade from the Premium edition that was pre-installed on my
new system to Ultimate. The advisor said all was ready to go, paid for the
upgrade, downloaded all the files and ran thru the entire install process, on
the final reboot, got failure message and everything resorted to
re-installing Premium.
Where should I start looking for conflicts? All I added to...

There seems to be little if no information out there about this. (Almost as
if it is no longer supported?)

later, vista refuses to boot up past a black screen with just the cursor
showing. This has happened 3 times and once vista crashed leaving me with a
