I left my RC1 to set up over night and did not see the activation screen.I
contacted Microsoft in the UK to find out how I validate it over the
telephone and I was given this answer,
Thank you for your email about problems with validating your Microsoft®
Windows Vista™ RC1 online.

RC2 Download disappeared? by
Bill Doman
I was downloading RC2 from
http://download.windowsvista.com/preview/rc2/en/download.htm (which, over my
ISDN line, is kinda time-and-bandwidth consuming). At 99%, the download
manager ended with a "fatal error" message. I went to go back and restart it
and that address now goes directly to the Windows Vista home page. Has RC2
been pulled? Will I be at some point able to finish this...

get a black screen. However, when I have the install DVD in the drive Vista
works perfectly. I have a Gateway 9310xl with 1gb ram FDP1960 monitor 2.4gb

Unable to validate Vista RC1 by
mftr
I acquired the trial version of Vista RC1 in response to a Microsoft online
offer. Popups keep insisting that I validate and direct me to a help screen
for that purpose. Therein I find two options: First is to click on the Active
X controls in the Information Bar, second is to declare how I acquired Vista
RC1.
An Active X bar does not appear in the validation window so I cannot
validate...

Vista multiboot help needed BADLY by
WillyTheChop
I just installed Vista on 10-11-06. Just downloaded it a few days ago. It is
the 64-bit version of Vista. I burned the ISO to a DVD and booted from that
DVD and installed from there.
I have a SATA HD with 4 partitions on it: A C: drive (where Vista is newly
installed), a G: drive (where XP Pro has been installed for a long time), an
H: drive (where XP Home has been installed for a long...

Is Vista NTFS Format/File Structure Compatible With Previous Versi by
Bob H
I've previously used Powerquest Drive Image 5 to back up (or move between
disks) images of my C: drive partition. Despite the age of this version, its
worked flawlessly with Windows XP, and even recognises the on-board RAID
controller on my motherboard and backs up XP to a RAID 1 array on my PC. Just
to be clear, I've been booting from the Drive Image CD-ROM - which runs its
own version of...

RC2 blue screens when left running overnight by
Nick Payne
Since installing RC2 it blue screens overnight when the PC is left running.
Haven't had it crash while I have actually been using it, which is quite a
few hours now. RC1 didn't crash when left running overnight. Both clean
installs onto their own partitions.

Data Access by
Windows Old or Windows lost?
This is, I hope, a simple question for someone more knowlegable than I.
How do I, as single and only user on my personal machine, open all area of
the disk to my use?
I did an installation, old data and progs were put in windows old, and vista
looked good.
Unfortunately it will not allow me to access my old data, and MS Office
beta, which worked under XP Pro, now gives me the message" MS...

Hello,
I just installed the 64 bit version of RC1 on an extra drive (G:).
On my primary drive (C:) I am running XP Pro (32 bit).

I restarted and hit F8 to go to go my boot menu to boot the drive that I
