Searching for H264 in the forums reveals 3 posts. Is no one actually doing anything with video then?

I have a bunch of old VHS tapes that I want to edit and turn to DVDs but the Vista version does not have the direct capability. Can anyone recommend an analogue to DV converter that I can get that is compatible with Vista.

My audio files play perfectly until the last 10 seconds when they stutter and jump. I have shuffle play turned on - it's as if the next track is being prepared for play and slows everything down. Running home premium with 4GB RAM. Any ideas please? Thanks

I changed my Music and Photos locations by right clicking the names in the start menu and changing their locations. Easy! However, the Videos folder does not have a start menu link. So, I changed it's location and created a new folder for it n my E partition. It works great and the link from within the Users folder works. Now though I have another Videos folder next to the junction point...

My windows vista computer has been successfully using Movie Maker, but now when I click on a 'project file' I get an error message that says the file "was created by a version of Windows Movie Maker that is not supported". Do I need to totally re-load Vista? I cannot find an independent download of WMM version 6.0. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have one of the older versions of iTunes on a cd so I installed that on my Sony Vaio with Vista. When I try to update iTunes to 7.7 i get several error messages. The first one is about verifying Apple Mobile Device, if I click ignore to that another one comes up. The second error message read like this Error writing file then list the folder that has something to do with mozillaplugins....

I have several questions on this subject: 1) What are the optimum settings to scan old photos? Using the default settings has produced some uneven results. I downloaded a home video. I used Windows dvd burner to add some text and when I burn it using windows I get a distorted video. Does anyone know what would cause that and how I can correct it. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

I want to save 2 pictures as desktop items to use a background. In vista when right clicking on a picture now I only have the option to set as background where as in XP there was the option to set as desktop item. Is there a way to set pictures as desktop items like was on XP? thx

Suddenly media player just won't launch, even with run as administrator. I tried downloading media player for vista but it won't install saying there is already a Newer (?) version on the computer. So I tried uninstalling the existing version but it doesn't even show on the list of programs for uninstall. Not sure where to turn. This happened once before but a reboot fixed it.

With Windows Picture Gallery there are fields to create tags and/or captions. When I get to the point to actually burning a dvd, will only the captions show on the finished product, or must I delete the tags prior to burning. Sorry, didn't add this to my previous questions! I am having the same problem as Scubiekim - except I DO use Windows Vista. When I put a CD-R in the drive, and try to burn pics onto it, it tells me I can't. Then every 5 minutes since I've tried, I get a balloon on the bottom of my screen saying "You have files waiting to be burned to disc. To view files, click this balloon". i have music playing from my laptop and have no clue where it comes from-it plays the same beat for a few minutes then stops. it can come on at any time. does anyone know how to get rid of this or what it could be? thanks.

I saved my last project and when I opened the program again, it just wont play. I can see the pictures but when I click at them, they wont come up on the screen. It has happened repeatedly and I just don't know what to do.
