Can't view folders or pictures in Gallery by browniebodrum
Since migrating folders from my previous (XP) laptop to a new one running Vista Business, I've never got Windows Photo Gallery (WPG) to work properly with my picture folders. All the pictures I've taken are in a folder called Pictures, (it was the 'My Pictures folder in XP) which to get to now, in Vista's version of Windows Explorer I navigate to like this: \Pictures. If I open a picture...

What codec makes explorer.exe load CPU? by glentall
I had a similar problem with explorer.exe using up almost all the CPU time, causing all sorts of other "inconveniences." I found and used the Process Explorer as you mention below. I discovered that, within explorer.exe, there was a thread running the program wsil32.dll that was hogging all the CPU time. The program showed me that wsil32.dll is "Winlogon Startup Initialization Library"...

Windows Live Movie Maker by PapaJohn
The final release of Windows Live Movie Maker arrived. I did a fresh installation of Windows 7 Ultimate, followed by the latest of Windows Live Essentials... nothing else, no added codecs, no conversion utilities. My first check was to import some test files into Windows Live Movie Maker... MOV, High Def AVCHD, MP4, Motion JPEG, Xvid encloded avi... etc. They imported and previewed fine.

Vista Media Center A/V Codec Support (XVID, DIVX, etc) in RC1 by AHeber
Anyone have any luck installing video codecs such as XVID, DIVX, etc., on Vista RC1? Similar to Media Center 2005, the codecs will install and operate fine under Media Player 11 from the normal shell, but are not recognized by media player within Media Center. This was a very frustrating issue with MCE 2005 (codecs not used universally by media player in and out of Media Center). Any...
