On my VistaRC1 the Media Player keeps locking up if I pause the DVD video for more than a few seconds. After the pause if I hit play it takes a while before anything happens and then the video is very choppy and not caught up to the sound. i can't see the pictures when i go to the folder where they are ... they just have the standerd gif, jpeg,.... pictures not the thumbnails... even when i change it to view thumbnails it didnt work, but the pictures do work and can be viewed when i open them up under the picture view respond quickly plz! thanks

I've only got 6 videos in my folder. Explorer shows the thumbnails OK but crashes ALWAYS immediately after that. Umpteen reports have gone off, but I've had nothing back yet. Is there a way (registry hack maybe?) to stop Windows Explorer from creating the thumbnails for video files? I know I can select the option to "Always show icons, never thumbnails", but that will also remove the image thumbs. What I'm looking for is a XP-like operation.

Has anyone found a video editing application that will work in Vista to produce DVD videos or slideshows? So far both ULead and Roxio don't seem to work for me, and video editing and slideshow production are two important uses for my computer. Without that capability, I'll stick with XP.

in xp after creating a new folder, hitting the enter key would automatically insert folder into correct alphabetical place along with other photo folders. how do i do this in vista? the folder just stays at the very end of all the other folders. thanks -- harvey

Have finally got my X-FI card working using beta 2 drivers from Creatives site. If I go to somewhere like http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/domorewith/sursoshowcase.aspx and try their Latin or World Beat sound demos, 5.1 surround works fine. But if I run the Coral Reef Adventure which is a HD video, according to MS I should get this in 5.1, but I'm only getting stereo.

I have Pre-RC1 Build 5536 and I have a lot of trouble with Media Center sounding/looking like a broken record. I just upgraded to 2 GB RAM and it seems to help, but it still occurs after an extended pause. Any ideas?
