In XP i use Switch from NCH to convert music files. From mp3 to wav with encoder settings in Mpeg Layer-3 with 56 kb/24000Hz stereo and 6kb/sec to have a small file to be included in powerpoint. I installed the same exe file on my Vista home premium laptop and I can't find the Mpeg Layer-3 anymore. What can I do? Someone who can help me? Thanks a lot. Gosia

Hi new to posting and vista. Recorded flv files onto disc. Played just fine until i took out disc then disc not even recognised. Files play just fine on XP laptop but not the vista one i recorded them on. Any ideas. I've created a project in Vista Movie Maker which was 15 minutes long at one point. Later, I shortened the final audio and video clips to make the project 11 minutes long. There is nothing on the Timeline after the finals clips, but the project insists on playing through the blank space after the clips to the 15 minute point anyway. How do I get the project to cut off after the final clips...

All was well and Photo Gallery worked nicely as does the Live version. Here's the problem I loaded Borderbund's Photoshope 22 that had a patch to make it vista compatible. That disabled my DVD/CD drive. I Removed Photo shope and used recovery manager to restore to well before PS 22 and the Vista patch. My DVD/CD drive is good but Photo Gallery is all hosed up when it comes to importing .jpg...

Oh the frustration of new computer programs!! What is the easiest way, once I have down loaded photos from my camera to file them? On my long lost friend 'XP' I simply used to right click and file them with one click, now I am dragging them ontop desktop and then dragging them to the various files. I tried to put the correct names on all of the songs from an old mix CD we have. The CD had generic names, like 0101Track01 and so on. I tried putting in the first song's name into the "Find album info" box, and clicked OK, but then...wait for it...it renamed the rest of the songs to match that song's original album!
