Why am I connecting to TWO wireless networks at the same time? by
Jeff Wisnia
I'm sing a Dell Inspiron 530S with Vista. I've moved to a new location
with Comcast wireless. Which was setup for me by Comcast with a user
name and password. My user name is Monkey20.
When I Install Monkey20 and look at the network and sharing center I see
TWO networks installed:
"Monkey20" (Private Network) and also "unidentified Network" (Public
Network)

route print shows 0.0.0.0 gateway on-link by
Bill
I have a user that just recently got a VISTA pc. It is connected to our
domain here. When he comes in first thing in the morning. His laptop will
not connect to the network. looking at the routes. I found 0.0.0.0 mask
0.0.0.0 gateway on-link. If I delete that route and add 0.0.0.0 gateway
192.168.0.1 it starts working again. Anyone have any ideas where this is
coming from?
Thanks

HP All-in-one printers disappearing when there are changes in the network status by
mlai
Hi,
Just wondering if anybody has seen this problem. HP claims that they
have not seen this problem (despite I have reported it before...)
I have a Photosmart C6180 installed on my network. Under XP, everything
seems to work fine. However, on my Vista x64 machines, the printer and fax
seems to disappear when there are changes in the network status (for
example, resuming from suspend,...

Unauthenticated Network? by
BobP[_2_]
Hi-
On some of the workstations on my SBS2003 network the Network and
Sharing Center is showing the network connection as "Unauthenticated"
and showing a yellow triangle icon.
It doesn't seem to have any impact on performance that I can see, but
looks messy.
What does Unauthenticated in this context mean, and why do some

Zombie HotSpot Won't Stay Deleted by
rickman
I have an EnGenius USB wifi adapter and it seems to work better than the
built in wifi in my laptop. At some locations I have a problem with a
connection forming to one provider which doesn't work properly anymore.
There are other hotspots available that do work ok. But it
automatically connects to the one that doesn't work anymore.
I have tried lowering the priority, turning off...

DHCP Client service does not start because of dependency failure by
Lanny Lin
My user's Dell M1330 laptop recently bought is not able to get connected to
networks both with the NIC and the Wireless card. We know the router is not
the problem because other Desktop (wired connection) and Laptop (wireless)
can connect to the router just fine.
The problem is basically because the laptop NIC is not getting an IP address
assigned by DHCP server, and further investigating...

Can't Network Vista-Vista-Mac by
DeniseStokes
I have 2 machines running Vista and 1 running Mac Leopard. I can't get them
to play nice. The wireless network is connected to the internet through my
Mac (airport). All computers can access the internet. My desktop (vista) can
reach a mac location I created by adding a network location on my computer.
My laptop (vista) can't reach the Mac at all. The worst part about it is that
my 2 vista...

NAS drives by

I hope this is the right forum.
I'm helping a friend with setting up his home network. He has two desktop
PC's; one running Vista the other running Windows 7. Had a bit of
difficulty getting the windows 7 PC accessing shared folders on Vista PC
(but not the other way) but this has been resolved. I'm left now with one
issue and that relates to the Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that...

Can't get wireless laptop to connect by

When I went to bed last night, the Internet on my new laptop (running Vista)
was working just fine. Woke up this morning and have been trying to get it
to work ALL day. It shows that my signal strength is excellent but it won't
connect. Not even when I plug it straight into the router! When I try to
diagnose it I get this message: "Wireless association failed because Windows

Can Google's Chrome OS attack Windows domination of the desktop? by
Ben[_12_]
The folks at Google seems to think that the desktop is ripe for the
taking and plan to release Chrome OS. I wrote a piece on Chrome OS,
with an accompanying video, at:
http://windows7reports.com/2010/11/16/google-chrome-os-arises-to-challenge-windows-7/
Realistically, what do you think Chrome's chances are vs. MS Windows 7
or Vista? Is the idea of a browser-based OS appealing to you? Can
all...

Wireless network connection lost frequently... by
ogman
I have several machines, 2 Windows notebooks, a Mac, and another Windows
desktop running XP, that all keep their network connection perfectly. The
only machine that drops the connection constantly is the one running Vista.
I'm using a Linksys WUSB54GS wireless card and a Linksys WRT54GX router, and
this equipment worked fine under XP. The computer itself is more than
sufficient to run...

Reset Network Adapter All the Time by
Barbara Governatori
My Acer desktop computer with Vista worked fine hard wired to a
wireless router that connected my HP laptop with Windows 7 until
about 3 weeks ago. Now whenever the desktop wakes from sleep mode I
have to reset the local network adapter. I have tried setting up a
static IP address, updating drivers, using Microsoft FixIt (twice) and
just about every suggestion in the web and nothing works. ...
