Network connection is late in the boot up process by
colliefan
When I restart my eithernet connection connects late in the loading process
causing an program that need to connect on-line when it loades - i.e.
PC-cillin fails. Any program that loads is delaying the NIC from completing
it's connection process and it can take 2 minutes or more for the network to
connect. If I try to launch IE before the network connects the NIC will

UNC Path error by
slimbim
I am having trouble browsing a network share using UNC path in Vista
Business. I am trying to connect Visual SourceSafe 2005 to the VSS database
in a remote server. However, I cannot browse to this share from my machine.
If I use the IP address I can open and browse, but if I use the name it does
not work. For instance, if I do \\192.168.x.x, then it opens up fine.
However, If I do...

Adding a share to a file is very slow by
Nick
Hello,
I'm finding that adding share permissions to files and folders is for some
reason incredibly slow. I just added Read access to Everyone on a single
file about 5 minutes ago, and it's still on the "This may take a few
moments" progress screen. It's just finished this moment. Anybody else have
this terrible slowness?

The 2 XP computers could see each other and the internet, but the Vista
computer could not be seen or see the XP computers. For the information of
those who have had the same problem I have had getting my home network to
run, the culprit was my firewall. It appears if the firewall is configured
correctly, all of the...
