Drop connection to XP share by
Rem-8
Hi there
I have a XP Pro on laptop and Vista Ult on PC. I can access shares
both ways. The thing is that I can't copy any files to XP folder,
because after "calculating time to copy files" the msg pops-up that
connection has been closed. All priviledges to access the folder are
set to Everyone - Full Access both share and NTFS rights.
When I restart computer and access my laptop from XP...

Terminal Server in Vista Home? by
Chufty
I'm just looking for clarification. There is NO way I can use my newly
purchased Vista Home Premium as a remote desktop server? On XP Pro I used
remote desktop from work every day. I cannot afford Vista Ultimate.
VNC doesn't cut it over the internet.
I just want to use my PC from work!

Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface? by
drahnier
Since installing Vista Hotfix KB299451 I have a new network adapter listed
in device manager: Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface - with an exclamation
mark: "The device cannot start (Code 10)".
I am aware that this network adapter is required to enable IPv6
functionality over IPv4 but am not sure why it did not show up before
installing this hotfix nor do I know how to correct this error.
I...

VPN - All shares not visible by
Paul P
I have a laptop & desktop network set up with Vista Business. I can connect
the two of them successfully at home and have established approximately a
dozen shares on the two machines.
I have built a VPN to allow the two machines to connect when traveling.
When on the road, I connect via the VPN to the Desktop but I can only see
two of the 12 shares that I have set up. I suspect I have a...

RDP from Vista to XP by
Andi Setiawan
I got problem when I'm trying to connect to my computer at school with Windows Vista. I tried to connect to my school computer with Win XP, it works perfectly. I thought it was a compatibility problem. However, when I tried to connect from Win Vista to my Win XP at home, it works just fine. I can even connect from Win XP to my Win Vista. I've updated my computer at school to RDP6 too, but I still...

Remote Desktop to Windows Server 2003 by
Melissa
Hi - I connected to my work network via network cable. To access my virtual
desktop I need to use the Remote Desktop connection. I can ping the server
(windows 2003) and get to the login screen where it asks me to verify my
login name and domain and then enter my password. I have verified all the
settings and still can't get to the virtual desktop.
I was able to use this type of...

Network printer by
[email protected]
Wow, after reading the posts here I am amazed I got my vista/xp
network going without too much problem... not because I know what I'm
doing; just lucky I guess.
But I do have one problem that stumps me:
My network is 2 desktops with XP home SP2 wired to a router. Then a
notebook with Vista Home Premium wirelessly connected. I can access
all my shared files from any of the three computers so...

Problems with networking??? by
Niteshade
Well after all the reading through these posts and everyone referring people
to the same webpages over and over, I found the better alternative. For
those of you that have recently upgraded to Vista from Xp, Microsoft offers
free tech support via phone for the first 90 days from purchase date of your
Vista product. I was experiencing alot of difficulties with my firewall
settings and...

#1 Problem: Network Connection Sporadic
Any time I go into sleep mode and return my network is *usually* ok.
However, a majority of the time now even after a fresh reboot, my network
shows "connected with limited access", which simply equals no connection. I
do not know why this keeps happening. I've restarted my system, router, modem
and still the problem occurs.
#2 Problem: Sleep Mode...

Vista losing connection to XP machine by
Rob O.
Hi All!
Just got a new Vista Ultimate machine. I have an old XP Home machine that I
wanted to use to create a simple home network. I created a workgroup on both
machines (Workgroup). I created a username that was the same for both PCs
(same passwords as well). I connected both machines to my router via
Ethernet. I first had a problem with my Vista machine not seeing my XP
machine. I...

I have set up a wireless home network on which I would like to share a
printer attached to my desktop on which Vista Home Premium is installed. My
remote computer uses the Windows XP operating system. I have set up the
network and enabled file and printer sharing on the desktop and allowed an
exception to the Windows firewall. I have also set up a network on the remote
computer. Both...

Networking my Windows XP and Vista PC through my wireless router by
Losse
Hi there
Is it just me or does Windows make it extremely hard to network 2 computers?
I just got a new PC (Vista) and I want the Vista to see my old PC (XP). Both
Vista nd XP connect to the internet through an SMC Barricade Wireless Router.
I have an ethernet cable from the Vista and XP connected to the router so
shouldn't that be enough of a connection to see eachother's shared files and...

Vista Business not seeing XP or 2000 Pro by
CableApe
I have just purchases a Vista Business laptop and can connect to the internet
just fine wirelessly. I can't see my wired XP or 2000 Pro machines or
printers from the Vista machine. They all have complete share access. I
have read these threads and everything seems to match the suggestions except
I can't seem to find the LLTP patch mentioned. My wired machines see the
wireless laptop but...
