Netware? by
Bryan Powell
Is there any way to add netware access with Vista yet? Novell does not have
a client as far as I can tell and it can not be added under protocols. Any
ideas?
Thanks.

Removing misnamed computer from networked connections by
martyfelker
I missed named my Vista computer and then changed it using System. The
misnamed computer still shows up in "Neightwork Neiberhood". How can I
remove the useless computer from Vista and there I guess Windows 2000 to
which I am networked through a common router? Very annoying and if I try to
access the non-existing computer to delete it Vista blue screens.

Using IEEE 1394 as Network Adapter by
Brendan S
Hi
I am currently using an HP nx9010 laptop with an IEEE 1394 port on it. Under
Windows XP this port showed as a network adapter to which you could assign an
IP address and, with a suitable cable, connect it to the IEEE 1394 on another
machine to create a nice fast 400Mbps direct network connection.
Under Windows Vista, my 1394 connection is detected, but it does not appear
under the...

raw socket with non-admin account on Vista by
szchsong
By testing, on Vista 32 and Vista64, raw socket can work (create, bind, recv
etc) when login with *standard* user account. It can't be on XP. In other
words, on XP, raw socket can work only when login with admin account.
I'm not sure if there are plans for Vista to turn this off before Vista is
officially released.
Appreciate any advice.

Can't connect to domain by
Ray Joslyn
Using the RC 1, I am trying to connect to a domain on a win2003 server. The
new vista install has the user with administative privledges, however when I
try joining the domain, it says the account must be a member of the
adminitrators group. It is, so what is going on? Is this a limit of RC1?

Mapped Network Drive in XP Not Showing Up in Vista by
naters22
I upgraded from XP to RC1, I had a mapped networked folder on a SQL server
that wasn't a part of the active directory that I am a part of, which could
easily still be seen, searched, and used under XP. Now, I can't connect at
all to the server in Vista. It won't show up in the network discovery and I
can't browse to it either. I can, however, look it up in Internet Explorer
(using the IP...

And yes, I have tried creating a password but it still doesn't work. Any
ideas? I really need some help here guys...

Unable to connect to SSID by
bryan
I've been unsuccessful in connecting to a wireless router that is not
broadcasted. I've troubleshooted the obvious, and Vista says the SSID
already exists, but is not listed to connect. It's a Linksys router and a

cant connect to network shares on usb drives by
RichardPS
Hello
When I try to connect to network shares on a usb drive on my vista machine.
I get the following messege "not enough available server storage to process
command", the shares on my internal drives work fine.
I have looked into this and their is a fix which requires you to change the
ipstack size in the registry. however I have tried this and it doesnt work.

I have set up a dual boot of WinXP x64 Pro and Windows Vista x64.
Absolutely no problems with setting up the network in XP x64, I can see all
the other computers on the network. However when I boot into Vista x64, I
cannot see the other computers, but it sees the cable internet connection on
the router. Other computers on the system can see the Vista computer.
