Vista home networking by
lebo12
Hope someone can help me with this.
I'm having quite a few issues trying to get my new Vista machine to work

PC's running XP Home edition. All of them on a "MSHOME" network domain, and
I can share folders/printers among all of these machines without any problems.
On my new HP machine with Vista Premium Home, I've...

configuring remote desktop for a LAN by
nycman
What's the syntax for opening a remote desktop on a computer that's part of a
local network (i.e., controlled by a Linksys router)?
All the Microsoft stuff (at least what I can find) involves a single IP
address. But what if that IP address then distributes to four computers
using port forwarding?
Basically, I am trying to replace pcvAnywhere. Through no fault of my own,
I now have to...

Can't share internet connection (Vista-XP) by
Sergio Millich
This is puzzling:
I have a Vista PC with a DSL connexion and an XP notebook PC connected
through Ethernet. While both PCs see each other, manage to share files
etc... there's no way to access the Internet on the notebook. What is
strange is that if you don't assign an IP address (leaving it dynamic) to
either network cards, the XP notebook signals a limited or inexistant
connectivity (while...

Have to disable firewall in order to recognize home network by
Pat Mac
I have a home network set up with the host computer (running Vista),
printer and IBM laptop (running XP). I found that I have to disable both
the Windows firewall and McAfee firewall on the host computer in order for
my network to recognize my IBM laptop. Is there a workaround other than
turning the firewalls completely off?
