Can't Browse With Any Browser by
Jack[_10_]
My Son's computer was working yesterday and this morning he can't surf using
IE 8 or Firefox. It appears Port 80 is being blocked. I have disabled the
firewall temporarily and this did not resolve the issue. I did the "netsh
winsock reset" and this did not fix the problem. I have reset my router with
no change.
I am able to ping the DNS, the Default router and his IP address within the...

How: Allow a vista home machine to access files stored on a 2003 A by
charles
Hi,
I know that Vista home can not join a 2003 AD domain.
However, is there a way for me to allow a vista home machine (that is
directly connected to the network) to access files that are being hosted on a
2003 machine?
If yes, what do I do regarding the fact that the files are in a folder that
has permissions set up that only some users have access to it. (I have an

What are the defaults for mc extenders by
danimalhanke
I have Vista Prem, my 360 can connect to my pc and my 360 shows in the
network window on the pc. but I can't ping the 360 and MC keeps giving a
generic error message (nothing specific just error) after I enter the 8
digit code from the 360. It's my understanding the 8 digit code is only
generated AFTER the 360 connects to the MC pc. Yes I've opened all the
ports listed on the 360, the xbox and...

Laptop (Vista Home Premium x32) Wireless connection to router
Here's the problem. Long ago, I managed to get it set up so I could log
in to my desktop from my laptop and pull files I needed for the day to
the hard drive. This still works just fine, 100% no problems!

funky behavior and could not get past login:
a) Login screen showed two users - one correct, w/ no password, and one
named "user" with unknown password.
b) Selecting correct user (and no password) showed wait state mouse icon for

Remote Desktop by
ACC
I need to be able to connect to my Vista Home Premium pc from my office,
preferably by remote desktop, but I cannot find any way to allow this. In
network sharing - remote (etc) there is no option to allow RDC, and in
windows firewall RDC is not listed in the exceptions. My router is
configured to allow port 3389, so this is a Vista HP limitation.
Does anyone know how I can solve this?

Networking Issue by
John Harris[_2_]
I have recently (the last week) had a number (5) of Vista PC's (mostly Home
Editions but two Business) turn up with network issues. The issues are that
they seem to lose their Internet connectivity. When I get to them they are
all using DHCP but have ended up with an APIPA address. When I run the
Repair and Configure wizard the issue remains. I have tried:
1. Running the wizard
