Are there any specific packet types exchanged while it is present in the network so that it can be used to determine its presence in the network . I've tried this method with my Epson Stylus Photo 895 attached to a Windows XP Pro workstation but Vista x64 just asks for drivers because they aren't on the XP Pro machine. The problem is, the drivers are only available on the Vista install CD and I can't find them. I'm using Vista but not sharing any folders at all on my unsecured wireless network. However, could a hacker in my apartment complex still access the hard drive's files if my admin password is blank (since I never set the admin pw up), or even just another way, even though I don't share any folders?
