Hello Tony, I had the same problem my LAN network connection had a status: local. Some where i read that vista determines this status by checking your gateway ip adress. So i did an ipconfig /all. I shared out a folder with a txt file in it on my vista machine I went to my laptop which is an xp pro machine and browsed to the file no problem I was able to delete the file which shouldn't happen. I'm having troubles connecting to networks that redirect you to an http web page. For example I am able to connect to unsecure connections but as soon as I have to be redirected to a page to log in the explorer the page won't even come in. any help with this would be appriciated. Daniel

I have a Linksys LNE100TX network card and Vista is not even seeing it. I tried to load the driver, but after selecting Network Adapter, then Have Disk and pointing to the driver, clicking OK, nothing appears in the box and the Next button is greyed out.
