Vista Updates "Window modules installer stopped working and closed by
bullmom
Vista Premium Home came installed on my Dell desktop about 6 months ago.
Since November 2007, updates hang and will not complete. Some at 15%, others
at 75%. Some will install and others won't complete. Clicking cancel has no
effect. Hard shutdown is the only way to shut down, as the computer continues
to run updates. I really want to keep updates current, but... Any suggestions?

MSCONFIG Boot - Stuck in Safe Mode or Selective Startup by
Kmye
This has not been a week that's made me much enamored of Vista.
In order to troubleshoot my parents' Vista PC after their wireless
mouse/keyboard suddenly stopped working after 4/9's automatic updates, I had
to a do a system restore from Safe Mode. Their corded USB keyboard we got to
work (along with a PS2 mouse) to do the fixing wouldn't work using the
F8-method to get into Safe Mode, so I...

Paul Calcagno
I've got a 6 year Compaq old laptop running Vista Basic, 1.5 GB of RAM, most
WU's are current, MBAM, SAS, CA Security Suite with the FW shut off. Windows

The system is very slow for file/program commands (Open, close, shutdowns,
etc.). For instance, if I right click on Start and select `Explore' it takes

Vista Excessive Disk Activity by

For the past few weeks I have been attempting to create a Vista Home
Premium configuration on a new Core 2 Duo PC. I though that I had
finally created a stable config with all the proper hardware drivers and
many of my apps. I then noticed that the disk activity light was on
solid - and I couldn't figure out why.
I ran a number of process tools, the only one that seemed to provide
