Hi,
I have Windows Vista Home Premium installed on my laptop. Currently I
am facing with a peculiar problem. I start up the machine and do the
Windows login. But as soon as I do that I get logged out immediately.
As such, I cannot work at all since I always get logged out. I have
tried removing the password as well but that does not work as well.
Please help!

Vista Backup - File and Complete PC - many systems to external dri by
emcinerney
As the resident computer guru in the family I'm required to manage multiple
systems. For backups I have an external drive that I bring to each computer
to backup to. Are there any issues with backing up multiple Vista machines
(both File and Complete PC) to the same external hard drive?
I found a good article describing the Vista backups in a bit more detail
than the limited help...

Rich text format or HTML format by
t-4-2[_98_]
Hello everyone,
I have friends sending me attachments in " .doc file " or " dat file "
formats which my computer cannot read.
Can I change it to Rich Text Format or HTML format myself, or do I have
to tell them to resend the attachments, which is what I had been doing.
Thank you.
PS. My computer is running Windows Vista Home Premium, 32-bit.
I am using Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail.

High CPU utilization with svchost.exe / dwm.exe by
duucfho[_7_]
Been running Vista Enterprise for almost a year, with no issues. This
problem just began last night.
When booting my computer, I have about 1 minute after I reach the
desktop before my CPU utilization goes way up. I have a Intel Core2Duo,
so the rogue process takes up only 50% (appears to only use 1 core).
Even so, I am unable to do just about anything (open windows, close
windows, click...

Try this:
Restart computer Logon as Administrator delete folder or file
OR
Turn off UAC delete folder or file
Also, run Task Manager and make sure no processes or services are trying to
access the file.

Is there a log file with BSOD information, and what does that info mean? by
Anthony[_8_]
I have a HP dv9420us notebook running Vista home premium 64.
I also have the HP Express card Analog TV Tuner
I have had a problem with BSOD and sleep mode.
HP says its my video driver, I dont know how they know that unless its

I would like to leave it on in power saver plan so it can resume and record
my favorite shows then sleep again.
When I do it...

Error Code by
toneywho
I have a new computer, a HP Pavilion a6567c. Every time I try to do a Vista
update I get the following error code: 80070005, and I cannot install this
update: HP Bus Controllers and Ports, Display software update released in
May, 2007. HP says it's no concern of theirs and MS sends me on a chase
that leads to me finding this is a common error code but no common fix.
Every thing I try...

System reliability by

Like several of the posts here I am experiencing random BSOD's and heavy CPU
and Disk load. I also get a lot of random error/warning messages in event
viewer usually linked to drivers/services/applications slow to respond. My
computer is an HP with Vista home premium and dual core processor and I must
say it runs ok apart from the occasional BSOD and " app stopped working ",
although shutdown is...
