Vista Backup - File and Complete PC - many systems to external dri by emcinerney
As the resident computer guru in the family I'm required to manage multiple systems. For backups I have an external drive that I bring to each computer to backup to. Are there any issues with backing up multiple Vista machines (both File and Complete PC) to the same external hard drive? I found a good article describing the Vista backups in a bit more detail than the limited help...

Rich text format or HTML format by t-4-2[_98_]
Hello everyone, I have friends sending me attachments in " .doc file " or " dat file " formats which my computer cannot read. Can I change it to Rich Text Format or HTML format myself, or do I have to tell them to resend the attachments, which is what I had been doing. Thank you. PS. My computer is running Windows Vista Home Premium, 32-bit. I am using Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail.

High CPU utilization with svchost.exe / dwm.exe by duucfho[_7_]
Been running Vista Enterprise for almost a year, with no issues. This problem just began last night. When booting my computer, I have about 1 minute after I reach the desktop before my CPU utilization goes way up. I have a Intel Core2Duo, so the rogue process takes up only 50% (appears to only use 1 core). Even so, I am unable to do just about anything (open windows, close windows, click...

System reliability by Bigblubber
Like several of the posts here I am experiencing random BSOD's and heavy CPU and Disk load. I also get a lot of random error/warning messages in event viewer usually linked to drivers/services/applications slow to respond. My computer is an HP with Vista home premium and dual core processor and I must say it runs ok apart from the occasional BSOD and " app stopped working ", although shutdown is...
