Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation dies when running Windows Media Player--no audio until reboot by Steven L.[_2_]
After I updated the drivers for my sound card to the newest drivers, Windows Media Player went nuts. Now, whenever I try to view any video with Windows Media Player, there is picture but no sound. In fact, after that, there is no sound coming from any other application either, until I reboot. I finally traced this to it causing Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation (audiodg.exe) to crash,...

Windows Explorer not responding by USAOz
My Windows Explorer (NOT Internet Explorer) keeps freezing with a title bar error message 'Not Responding'. I t may or may not resolve itself after about 10 minutes - more often not! I am usually given the option to restart it but then the desktop is refreshed and I lose about half my app tray icons! I had read the (similar) threads here but they date back to 2007 and none offer a...

Help, my browser has been hijacked! by Carlos
Michelle, Brute force solution. Run System Restore and take your OS back to a date prior to the infection. Carlos "Michelle" wrote: When I click links from a google search, my browser is redirected to other sites places like 'Ask' and 'Kelkoo' and other shopping and comparison sites.

Vista automatic system restore problem by Barbara92021
I recently went to set up a manual restore point and found out that my Vista is NOT doing any restore points, at all!!! I googled this problem and found out that, by default, Vista is supposed to be doing daily restore points, automatically. I assumed restore points were being done when I installed new programs! Nope! Assuming is never good! In the System Protection, there is a checkmark beside...

Cannot create System Restore point; Windows Update hangs by JPhilo
My new Vista Business Dell laptop is just a week old but already I'm having serious OS issues. The entire System Restore system seems to be hung up and not functioning. For example, if I go to the System Protection tab in System Properties, in the 'Available Disks' box it just says "Searching..." and never comes out of that. The System Restore and Create... (restore point) buttons are greyed out....

Registry Cleanup by evenicoulddoit
Hi All, I've tried using the Microsoft Answers forum... but they've not exactly been helpful. I also have a 32bit OS, sorry! A while back in attempting to check and correct my registry of any problems I downloaded a program, RegSeeker (from Softpedia), which edited permissions and has caused great problems since. (The program has been verified as non-malicious, but clearly it doesn't do it's...
