How to speed up Vista by
rive0108[_19_]
Many people I see are having the problem in regards to either a slow
boot up, or windows is slow to load Programs.
I myself have 4GB of ram, and I am using a SATA RAID 0 config. This can
result in heavy fragmentation and a slow system- especially after
recording tv on MCE.
Deframenting speeds up the system dramatically, BUT using the default
defragmentation doesn't defrag files bigger than 64MB.

Restoring XP Restore Point from Vista? by
Ruwiten7
Thanks for being here to assist, and I hope this is the correct group. I've
been running XP Pro for quie some time and recently installed Vista using
Partition Magic and have also installed Vista BootPro. I planned a full
migration of all of my data from XP today but cannot boot into XP for some
reason. I was going to export or save vital data from XP, so this is quite a
bummer. I cannot...

Can't remove K7TotalSecurity by
Zoe
Hi Everyone,
I hope someone can help me with this problem I've been having.
Up until November last year I had F-Secure virus protection on my computer
and I changed it to K7TotalSecurity. I had some problems with K7 so then I
tried Norton, but Norton gave me heaps of trouble and when I wanted to remove
it I found it very difficult to get rid of. I eventually did remove it and
installed...

Printer selection very slow by
Bill Meyer
I am running Vista Home Premium on a new desktop with Intel, 3gb ram and
a 500gb drive. Everything seems fine except for when I go to print, it seems
to take a long time for the print window to come up (15-20 seconds). Is
there any know reason for this? Or a fix?

Hello everyone. Thank you in advance for your replies.
I just got this a message this morning that I cannot get rid of, and I do
not know what to make of it. Before getting this message, and while the
computer was shut down, I changed my keyboard and that was the only change I
did. However, because the computer was off and because the keyboard is a
wireless usb enabled mouse + keyboard combo,...

Vista 64bit Start menu items are not executing by
x64FFFF
For a change I decided to give this os (Vista Home Premium 64bit SP1) a
chance and not curse the system and reboot, but try to diagnose the
problem.
Well the problem is as it is stated in the title. I can run all desktop
items, but for some reason nothing in start menu works. Everything was
working fine until one 3rd party application crashed to desktop 3 times
in about 1,5 hours. (Not)...

What Absolute Junk Vista Ultimate 64 bit OS is by
Ron[_15_]
This is my second time around testing Vista ultimate 64 bit and after much
testing I cannot believe what a heap of absolute rubbish this OS is. How
many years did it take Microsoft to develop this junk?
I have the latest drivers/software/ quad core intel 6700 CPU with a modern
motherboard and running 8GB of RAM. Yeah....I anticipate that you are all

XP System Restore from Vista Dual-Boot by
Ruwiten7
I hope this is the correct group for this question. I've searched the groups
for a solution; a couple of posts were very similar to my issue, but
unfortunately not exactly.
I have a dual-boot box. XP installed first; Partition Magic to create
smaller partition for Vista, and Vista BootPro installed as well. I primarily
use XP and that is where all of my data currently lives. I can no longer...

My Vista is Slow During Fast Downloads by
Eptiger
I'm running a pretty new laptop: Vista Home Premium on a Core 2 Duo (1.83
GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 FSB) with 3GB RAM. When I download files at speeds of
about 100 kb/sec or above (in Firefox, uTorrent, Miro, etc), my computer goes
noticeably slower overall. There's significant delay when I move the mouse
around the screen and such. This doesn't always happen, at least not on a
fresh reboot,...

In Advanced Tools under Performance Information and Tools, there is a list of
performance issues. If I click "remove from list" in the issue window after
clicking an issue, is it possible to get issues to return to the list or can
I see them in some other place?
