Unidentified CPU Usage At Idle (w/images) by
Nathan
Performance And Reliability Monitor total CPU usage is higher than the
combined processes.
There is something mysteriously using the CPU.
I let the computer idle down and took a snapshot so you can see all
processes running:

You will see the CPU claims to be using a total of 33%, however you will
notice there are only...

Application disruption from computer stand-by mode by

I've been having quite a annoying time with this problem. Certain programs
such as, Microsoft Office Outlook and iTunes, have been malfunctioning after
my Vista Business running Lenovo T61 Thinkpad laptop goes into stand-by mode
while the programs are running. Outlook will be stuck in a interminable
"server update"with my email server; iTunes will simply stop working (typical

Won't Sleep by
Sherri
I have Vista Home Basic SP1. Recently I find my computer won't stay asleep.
It powers back up after less than one minute. It may be one of my programs
running in the background is a little too aggressive. If so, how do I find
out what's waking up my processor?
Any thoughts?
Sherri

Various Problems by
XTAP
First of all, since I upgraded Windows XP to Windows Vista, my computer has
being running quite a bit more slowly with frequent stops, lags, and freezes
that weren't there when I was using Windows XP. These happen usually when I
try to load or open programs or windows. It's difficult to run multiple
programs at a time without the programs slowing down or even freezing
completely for a period...

Recycle bin full by
peter4
Help!!! My recycle bin is full!!! I didn't do it, I don't even know what
some of the stuff is. A ton of stuff was put in it on June 19 and I wasn't
even home then. In fact, there are a couple things in there that were in my
documents (lists of medications, etc.) that I know I didn't put in there.

A Proposal for a Faster Windows Operating System by
thecuttingedge1010
Knowing that the general Windows user base believes that Windows Vista is
slow and bloated, I strongly feel that Windows 7 would be an excellent place
improve upon this view and focus on performance rather than adding new
features to the operating system. It will increase the scope of hardware
onto which Windows 7 can be installed, make Windows more reliable, and keep
the competition strong...

Vista multi monitor bug!!! by
ajm786[_2_]
I think I've found a bug with the way Vista handles dual screens and
wallpapers.
I'm sure there are PLENTY of us who have dual monitors. For those of you who
do, try this:
1. Make sure Aero is enabled, and that your taskbar is always transparent.
2. Download any dual screen capable wallpaper program. For instance,
Ultramon, DisplayFusion, etc.
3. Set a DIFFERENT WALLPAPER PER MONITOR. Make...

Adjusting resolution for Screen Saver by
per44
Recently purchased widescreen monitor. Per instructions, changed PC
resolution to 1680X1050, which is maximum supported by monitor. Most
displays now utilize the entire screen, EXCEPT my screen saver, which now
displays square pictures, greatly distorted. What am I overlooking?
