The problem is now there is a directory on my F drive which is an external

can't either. The message I get is "Error 0x80070570 The file or directory

Vista does not seem to be reporting correct memory through taskbar by
Anand[_2_]
I have 32bit Vista Home Premium on my Dell inspiron with 4 gb of ram, and 128
mb discrete memory graphic card.
The system properties reports the memory as 4gb, while the task manager
reports the total physical memory as 3.5 gb, which is fine since part of the
memory is locked out due to memory addressing of the devices on the computer.
However, the usage statistics of the 3.5gb total...

Service Pack 1 & an older HP multifunction by
arnmh1
I'm using Vista Home Basic and recently downloaded SP1. My multifunction is
an HP
K80, which worked well enough until the SP1 download. At that point, the K80
was
no longer able to print from content online, from Paint and Word docs.
I have a Dell 531S with 2 GB RAM and 250 GB HD.
Dell tech support suggested uninstalling SP1, stating they've had several
incidents

Hi everyone, hoping you're smarter than me!
Unable to create a point for my C drive (was ble to for other drives) I get
an error- "not enough space" eventhough the drive is 50% full (325 GB drive),
I deleted shadow copy, but still unable.....i'd rather not run recovery
because of the re-install headaches.
Thanks much!
John
PS: Tested C drive in BIOS- no errors

Uninstaller commands going AWOL by
Tray Shadix
No matter what program I click to uninstall, it gives the same error; An
error occurred and it may already be uninstalled. It asks if I want it to be
removed from the list, but even if I click yes it's still there.
That part is regardless because I already know my programs, say Firefox,
work just fine because I'm using them to TYPE this.
Something's wrong somewhere {sighs}
Any thoughts?

ReApply SP1 in Vista? by
JJWą/Nicką
According to SFC /SCANNOW I have a number of corrupt system files (such as
autochk). For some reason my restore points only go back a few hours. IS
there not some way to REAPPLY SP1 to get the appropriate system files.
Otherwise I will have to do a repair install (assuming that is still
possible in Vista) & then reapply SP1

Task scheduler returns an error : the task image is corrupt ortamp by
Jean-David
Has anyone gotten a solution to this? All tasks return the same error. This
happened without warning.
Also, Is there a way of keeping Vista (5600-RC1) from performing a system
restore at every startup and even on waking up? This causes me to lose all my
carefully set restore points.
Many Thanks,
Jean-David

Multiple Complete PC Backup Points on Vista by
_@dm1n
This is a 2 part question;
Each time I run the Complete PC Backup, the previous backup gets overwritten.
1. Can you have multiple Complete PC Backup points?
When I copy the contents from the WindowsImageBackup folder to another
location and proceed with another Complete PC backup in an attempt to create
a second restore point, Windows Backup Utility will not detect the first
backup point.
