10 Minutes to Boot Up by
Jim De Vico
I have Vista Business installed on my Dell Core 2 Duo laptop. I bought the
laptop a few weeks after Vista was launched and had it preinstalled.
My laptop is part of a business network and I hadn't had this problem until
just a couple of weeks ago.
When I log into my laptop from anywhere not connected to my business
network, it boots rather quickly.
When I have it connected to my business...

Bluescreen and memory dump. by
Cura
Greetings Windows Vista Community.
I've been using Windows Vista Ultimate for about a half year now and i keep
getting bluescreens. I am uncertain of the reason and i don't know how i open
the .mdmp files that are left in the folder of the program that crash my
comptuer. Some time ago, vista actually solved the problem and said something
about my RAM being in conflict with my motherboard or...

"You are running out of disk space on RECOVERY (D:)" message. by
Robert Judge[_2_]
On my new VISTA PC, I tried to use the built-in Backup program. The back-up
apparently failed because there was not enough room on the "RECOVERY (D:)
disk.
Now, when I re-start my new VISTA PC, I get this message:
"Low Disk Space
You are runing out of disk space on RECOVERY (D:). To free space on this
drive by delteing old or unnecessary files, click here..."
When I "Click here," I am then...

Random System Freezes-Vista by
jdavidm
I performed a clean install of Vista from XP on a new Dell Dimension E250.
The only problem I noticed thus far is a random system freeze lasting 30-60
seconds and then the system resumes normal operation like nothing happened.
Does anyone have a solution?

power icon lost/missing. by
Josh
I own an HP Pavilion dv6000 laptop, that runs Windows Vista Ultimate. The
other day I noticed that the battery icon in the lower right hand corner had
dissappeared. I tried looking in "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" and
under the "Notification Area" but the power box under "System icons" was
avaliable for checking.
I've tried restarting my computer, because that would sometimes help, and...

CPU running at 100% and memory at maximum, getting mad! by
malfrus
Dear all,
I've enjoyed my dell XPS M1330 laptop for over two years now. Never had
any significant trouble with it...until now. It has Vista home premium
32 bit and 4GB of ram.
Last week on friday I left my laptop on the whole night (it's something
I did before and found no hassles the next morning) with plenty of air
circulation where it was located. The next morning the laptop...

Dell laptop and Vista by
debbie gallant
Was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. A friend of ours is using a dell laptop running vista. His recovery drive is being used for storage and not going to the original hard drive(c). Is there a remedy for this? Can this be fixed where all the data goes to the (c) drive and not the recovery drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

registry cleaner for 64 bit by
Mister Scary
Such software does not exist, and it makes me angry. When I upgrade to
Vista it will be to make the leap to 64 bit. But I will not do so if what I
consider essential software does not exist to support the operating system.

Won't read CDs, occasionally by
Tadukas
I have a Toshiba Satellite U405-S2856 with Vista Home Premium 32bit.
It's not even a year old and I've already begun having several problems
with it... One of the most annoying is this: I pop in my Age of Empires
3 CD, run the game, and it tells me "Please insert AoE3 Disk 1", even
though it's already in. Several times I've tried to restart my laptop
following that message, and when it begins...

Sorry by
LuLu
Sorry for the double-posting. I obviously do not know what I'm doing.
However, I've been looking at some of the questions/answers and I believe ALL
of my problems stem from allowing Vista to update. I really hate Vista.

On-Screen Keyboard is HUGE! by
LuLu
I've tried everything to try to reduce my on-screen KB to it's default size,
including 'system restore (4 times), which failed for some reason, shutting
the whole thing off, restarts, etc. I have no idea what I did & it currently
falls off the 18" x 20" screen so that I can hardly find the menu to 'exit'!
Please, anyone have any idea? Thanks, much appreciated...
