My son's computer won't load past the welcome page. Vista Home Premium came with comp and worked fine for months. A game disk, MS Zoo Tycoon 2, was left in when comp was shut down and restarted. This seems to be when the problem started. Have tried safe mode, MSCONFIG, startup and service disable/enable etc. no luck. Can't restore as no restore date was ever established.

I am trying to start the service 'Task Scheduler'. In the Computer Management/services this service is 'disabled'. when I select 'properties' all of the options on all of the tabs are greyed out and don't allow any editing. All of the dependant services are running though. Can anyone help me to change the status to 'auto' please?
