Cannot start the Diagnostic Policy Service by
Samzabrus
Hello
When i try to start the "Diagnostic Policy Service" I recive this error
message: (translated from Norwegian)
"windows could not start the Diagnostic Policy Service service on Local
Computer. Error: 5 – Access is Denied"
I have tried it in several user accounts including the administrator one.

Internet Explorer has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will
close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I see there are many people experiencing this same problem. With me it
is only a nusience. The message comes quite frequently although, i can
go on about my business with out interuption. Sometimes (not often) it
will shut down....

External USB Hard Drive no longer works by

I have been using an external drive for backup - but as of today, I
cannot 'see' it in 'Computer.' It is turning, but not showing up on my
monitor. Is there any way I can check to see what the problem is? The
cables seem fine.

When i run sfc/scannow it only runs to 77% and stops telling me that "
Windows
Resource Protection could not perform the required operation " and yes
i have run test to log what files they are but it still wont repair or
replace these files ?
I also ran a Hard disc test and its ok i also ran Malwarbyes but no
results. Can
someone help Please .

Backup and Restore idiocy by

For some reason, my backup and restore process now asks me for a
username/password to get to the USB drive I have been using over the
months I've had Vista (Home Premium SP2). I am the only user, and I
have been able to back up to this drive for quite a while. Now, I keep
failing "logon" to my own drive.
Can someone shed some light on this?

up and tells me the application has stopped working and would i like to find
a solution.

Vista boot problems on an HP Pavilion machine by

Got an HP Pavilion with Vista Home Premium on it that suddenly doesn't want
to boot up after being perfectly alright for over a year. Nothing has
changed and I've not installed any new software (unless something has been
set to autoupdate and a new update has been pushed without me noticing).
It POSTs OK, then goes on to the black screen saying "Windows is loading
files" with a white...

the computer locks instead of hibernating by

Hello!
When I select hibernate from the shut down menu, the screen turns dark and
then a message appears: "Locking computer...". After that the login-screen
pops up.
Hibernate used to work quite well in the beginning, and I have no idea what
went wrong.
Can anyone help me to solve this issue?
