Selection Rectangle Mouse Lag... Darn by Coola
So hmmm... I am experiencing a weird lag in my translucent selection rectangle when I go to click and drag my mouse on my desktop. I've done a bit of research and tried the 'untick - retick' solution but it doesn't work for me. To get a better 'picture' of my pain... my curse... here is the image of what it looks like:...

upgrading to 8gigs by aryno86
Hello, i have a quick question just to clarify something. I apologize in advance for any confusion over terms. When i bought my system it came with 4 gigs and Vista Home Premium x64. I had many compatibility issues with games and programs so i then put Ultimate 32bit on it. Now i would like to put another 4gigs of ram on my system and just wanted to make sure that it would accept more. I plan...

OLEACC.dll issues by BananaNutMuffin[_2_]
I'm running an Acer Aspire 5610 with Windows Home Basic. I've been having problems with my computer not starting correctly or freezing often. Usually I can start the computer with the last known good configuration and have no problems (a simple fix for me, since I know relatively little about computer hardware). Today, I received errors that many of my programs executable files couldn't run...

I disabled all of the fancy features of vista and using Vista classic theme. Does anybody have the same problem? ps. I've 2 gig of ram and quad core processor. --

Crash Dumps like crazy! by Jsh1284
Well, I am having some VERY annoying issues with this computer, seemingly for no reason. It was running fine but lately I've been getting hit with Crash Dump after Crash Dump. Usually it's when I'm watching TV on my tuner card, playing a game, or using Windows Media Player .. so I thought it was an issue with my Video Card ... however it just started hitting me while simply browsing the web. This...

Can't Replace Corrupt autochk.exe by HMT
My Vista Premium will not run autochk.exe. I ran sfc/ scannow and the cbs log file found autochk.exe corrupt. I tried to copy autochk.exe from another Vista PC to the c:\windows\system 32 folder and it will not let me. I'm running as administrator and click continue when user account control pops up, but it won't copy. Any suggestions?

System Restore stop error 0x00000024 by AndyP
System Restore option fails consistently with above error. Happens if I try to open it from Control Panel or by running rstrui from a safe mode command prompt. Stop error mentions problem with file system but chkdsk on every partition shows no error. Memory test also completes ok. Can't get into the window to turn off SR and purge existing restore points. Any ideas on how I can resolve this...

Network and internet by Pete Zahut
A friend asked me to help, but as I'm an avid XP fan and haven't gone over to Vista, I've no idea so I'm hoping someone here can help. Vista Home Premium (IIRC) and she can't get on the internet. I had a look and it seems that there's a choice of network, ie, Local Only or Local and Internet. Her's is stuck on Local Only and shows a red X between the diagram of a router and the globe. We...
