everywhere and searched for solutions but can't find any. Is this just
a Vista issue? I'm thinking about reinstalling it all over again. I am
at my last nerve with this and hoping someone can...

Vista Home premium SP2, IE8, WLM 14.0.0726
I've probably posted in the wrong newsgroup.
Just a day ago, I installed Windows Live Messenger. I inserted my picture as
profile for the Messenger.
I notice that the picture profile now shows up at top right of the WLM
window. It used to have my regular sign-in profile which is generic.
It is not a problem, I just wonder how did my picture get...

Network Login Icon no longer displayed by
Paul Calcagno
I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2 on an Acer desktop with 2 gig of RAM.
The computer is working fine and my internet connection seems quite normal.
However, I just noticed that the little computer monitor icon that's
supposed to be in the lower right hand corner of my display is not there.
Normally when I hover over this icon a small indicator shows up saying I'm
connected locally and to...

Cant change my background by
Orchidsdance
Ok... so I cant change my background. It just started today. I am able
to go into all of my pictures but when I try to select one of them... it
doesnt change my background. I have tried using the original pictures
that came installed and the only thing I can do is change the color of
the background or put up a gateway background. If more info is needed
please let me know.

Restore files to new user location after Vista reinstall. by
Steve
I re-installed my Vista Home Premium and did not create the exact same
computer and user names I had before. I restored my user files, but they
went to a folder that I cannot access (even from my new Admin account).
How can I run file restore to my new username on the newly installed machine
(HP DV2517 laptop) ?
Thanks for any guidance. Steve.

Start Menu Office 2007 shortcuts have stopped working by
PaulaSnap
when I go to the Start menu, click on a recently used Office 2007 program or
a pinned Office 2007 program, nothing happens. They don't launch. When I
open an actual office 2007 file, the apps load fine however.
My other pinned and recent apps shortcuts work - for example, Quickbooks,
Epson Scan, MS Email, MS Internet
Can anyone help me sort this out? Would really like to have a useful...

"Class Not Registered" Error Message: Huh? by
Scott Seely
I run Vista Home Premium on my HP laptop. When I try to open the
recycle bin, or if I try to open items on the list that pops up when the
start button is clicked (Computer, music, network, games...) I get an
error message window with a large red X and it says "CLASS NOT
REGISTERED". What's going on, and how do I fix this?

Well crap....Disk Defrag problems? by
DirtyDawg[_2_]
I was under the impression for quite some time now that when you run Disk
Defrag on the schedule that it actually defrags the drive when you tell it
to. Now it seems that it really doesn't, it just goes out and checks to see
if IT THINKS IT NEEDS IT, and then goes from there. Because of starting to
use my systems sleep mode more often, I've found it necessary to run DD
manually and it...

After doing a ton of updates for my Vista (haven't been able to update for
