I have run sfc /scannow and it stops at 98%. After reading the log files it seems that there are two files causing the problem. How do you go about fixing them? The two files in question a MediaMetdataHandler.dll sud.dll I would appreciate the help as I am stuck! Irv

Vista and Core Center compatibility - Please help! by Rodrigo_live
I have an MSI Motherboard that uses the MSI CoreCenter utility for single core processors. This utility isn´t compatible with Windows Vista and the company doesn´t seem to have the intention of release a new version. Does anyone know an alternative for CoreCenter? This utility controls the speed fan and if is not installed the PC makes a lot of unnecessary noise.

Administrator doesn't have permission to run his task ! by Paul
Good afternoon, Could anyone help me with this problem ? SUMMARY ═══════ I always thought that someone logged in as administrator in Vista has full (ie. read &write) access to all files and directories in the computer. Vista's "task scheduler" is telling me that I do not have certain rights to make changes to my tasks and that I do not have permission to access certain

"disk cleanup" does its own thing with Task Manager. by Paul
Hello everyone, I am trying to run Windows Vista's "disk cleanup" program automatically once a month. However, it doesn't run the way I would like it to. I type "cleanmgr /sageset:1" in the "run" box to record the type of files I want cleaned up. Then, I tell the task manager to run "cleanmgr.exe /sagerun:1". It runs, but it ignores the options I set for it and only cleans up the temp...

External usb drive hanging startup! by srt
Hi, I have a western digital 200gb usb hd which seems to hang the vista startup for some three to four minutes if its connected. Unhooked and vista starts well without the delay. I read somewhere that somebody put it down to mainboard locations of usb i.e.: front or rear and the rear had more power? My hd has its own power supply so could this still be a factor? tia for any advice. Stuart.

Severe problem while using Windows Backup by Jo
Yesterday I tried using Windows backup for the 1st time. I first tried backing up to a DVD+RW but the program kept giving me the error that the DVD couldn't be used. I erased the disk and continued to get an error. I tried several times, and at one point the backup started. I was surprised and stopped it, because I didn't think the DVD had been formatted. I then discovered that my...
