I removed an incompatible anti-virus program from my Vista. Upon restarting the computer, it would not fully reboot. I would get a taskbar, and a blue screen. When I moved the pointer into the taskbar area, I received a "working" indication. I performed a Vista reinstall, which corrected the boot problem. How do I reatore my original programs/data from the Windows.old file? Please...

Manually Started Defragment Stops in Sleep Mode by Tokarii CP

I've read that Vista Defrag was designed to be low disk and low cpu priority, but why would defrag let the computer go to sleep on it? Isn't defrag SUPPOSED to run when you're not using the computer? And shouldn't Vista be smart enough to postpone sleep mode if...

Hello I recently purchased a new notebook - a Toshiba A135, and I've noticed that on battery, the windows clock loses time in the neighborhood of 20 seconds per minute. the CMOS battery is just fine - I don't lose any time while inside the BIOS, nor do I lose time while the notebook is off. The time loss ONLY happens when the notebook is on battery power. I checked my power management...

Hi all, I am trying to backup my files to DVD, I have a lot of music and pictures (on an external HDD). I get an error code right when it begins to backup to DVD, the error is "The parameter is incorrect 0x80070057". My question is, IS it possible to backup files to multiple dvd's? I know you can do a complete PC backup to multi dvd's, but I now only want my media files.
