I have a new Vista machine, and it's taking 53 sec. to startup. I found that the Maxtor One Touch II backup USB drive was contributing to 13sec. The computer starts up in 40 sec when the Maxtor drive is not connected. I have a home network, and I'm assuming that's why I have a 40 sec vs. 30 sec startup. Any thoughts to improve this? Hello, I just put a new system together with an quad core extreem duo processor, NVIDIA 8800 GPX Video card, 2 Gigs of Domniator DDR2 Ram, and an NVIDIA 680i Mother board. Vista freezes for me everytime after a cold boot. Once Windows loads it's normally a couple of minutes before it simply locks up. When I restart it is fine, can use it for hours on end. But if I shutdown rather than restart, then switch on again, it freezes. Any ideas?
